I think it has a rev limited cdi. Some didn't have a wire to cut and you had to change cdi to De restrict. You are getting more speed from that before you hit the limiter than i was. That one could have better gears than the standard 13.5. Maybe they changed gears trying to gain speed mine cut out at about 30 by speedo

Ive had those VW filters kick my a** more than once,,They are designed for pressured fuel, not gravity!Throw that filter away and get a screen type..

those filters are junk..I thought you mounted it in the opposite direction. only filter i had seperate and start leaking fuel everywhere.

Agreed. I have screen filters on both my scoots and have never seen a gas flow issue with either of them. Both are using vacuum petcocks too, which will change to manual in time.

Didn't get much time with the scoot today. I did take it for a spin this evening and got a few more clues- For a minute or two while scoot was still cool it actually performed well- and fast!- halfway through my neighborhood it started breaking up again and also got a little backfiring on de-throttle. Air leak? Too lean?? I scoured the scoot for air leaks- The only maybe/possibly leak I could even find a hint of is possibly at the exhaust manifold. Close inspection with a bright flashlight while laying on my back and I'm still not positive it's leaking but I plan to take it off tomorrow and re-do it to be 100% sure. I also sealed the airbox where the elbow pops in and these forward intake airboxes all seem to have the same problem of the elbow popping out too easily. Went up to a 90mj from 85 and that's about all I got done. I have a pancake filter and manual fuel shutoff so I'll be putting those in tomorrow... I'm almost positive the CDI isn't restricted as I have on occasion gotten this to rev and run correct at high RPM for a few seconds at a time... The CDI will be my last effort after I've exhausted every possible cause for high RPM "break-up."

If you get it to run at high rpm for a few before it breaks up you are probably right. The cdi would be consistent. Likely fuel like you are chasing. Those are nice scooters don't fall in love lol

Definitely more of a challenge tuning this than the stockers! I've eliminated the petcock now with a shutoff and put the new filter in. I did take the exhaust off last night and found tiny trace of a leak- that's all sealed up good now. The only thing left is to keep carb tuning. I was hoping to fire it up this morn with the new stuff and it'd be great but no It's significantly cooler today and now it's back to more breaking up than cutting out like it was in the vid... I took the snorkel out and it seemed a bit worse. I only have a 95 and 100 mj left in my arsenal so hopefully one of those two will get 'er done!

95 and 100mj no good... "pig rich." Now going back down the ladder... the only 80mj I have is in the AIR50 scoot which is fine since I've been wanting to upjet it for the cooler weather.

OK so I've made a decision on this scoot- a couple decisions and a question actually...
#1: I have come to the conclusion that it IS rev limited by the CDI. I've gone up and down the jet ladder with 80,85,90, and 100 (my 95mj disappeared). Since the DC CDI's are so expensive for this (I can only find them for $75+) and I don't want to keep waiting for parts..
#2: I have decided to just put this Beamer to stock 49cc and sell it that way. I would've liked to see the full potential on this with the t6 Airsal and Technigas (it seems fast!)but in the end it's just another full frame Mina and I'll keep these goodies for something else. (Is this exhaust too small for my bone stock 90cc?)

Stock 50cc of course, I have yet to get the time or priority to put the BBK on it. In my opinion, no I don't think it would be too small but then again at this scale it's hard for me to really say.

You should be able to make any 2t cdi work but will one of the kymco plug in and work workout re wiring i don't know. Yamaha vino 2t had a dc cdi but it was completely different looking and would require a wire job

You would want to measure the stinger id. My guess is that it will be small for a 90 and cause you to overheat. If I recall 19mm is the minimum but confirm that with 190 or Brent.
