This is with an 86 main. It pulls the front wheel with ease and the studder is gone.

That sounds great Dave! That's with the stock air box? Seems about as loud as my homemade exhaust was. I did put the (modified) baffle in near the rear and also a bit of packing around mesh but not much. It was loud but not obnoxious like running with open headers. I really like how that Peace Pipe sounds!

Yep stock box. I like the sound too...I'm not sure how the neighbors like it.

what did it take to make the long case fit instead of the short case ?

Sorry Stevie, I missed this somehow. The long case dropped right in. I seam to remember having to switch mounting tubes from one to the other. I had to do more cutting because of the 54mm cylinder but that would be the same on a short case.
