Holy catfish! I don't know exactly what's going on here but wth? I put this thing back together meticulously sealed with the same parts that were getting me 100psi previously.... except no head gasket now. Only thing I can think is maybe my buddy did something wrong when he assembled everything? Maybe he put the piston in backwards? With the exhaust arrow facing the wrong way? Would that cause low compression? I didn't even look when I took it apart and this piston doesn't have the two little windows so it's hard to tell without seeing the arrow... Maybe I put a little too much oil in the cylinder when I squirted, but wow. I was actually closer to 200 psi before I cleared some oil from the cylinder. Now I'm wondering if I should put the head gasket back in!

Finally- It's alive! We have two stroke smoke! She's purring like a kitten and the Athena crank sounds nice and smooth. Yeehaw! I had to do a little fiddlin' with the carb float- I hate these all plastic floats! grrr Is there any other way to adjust these things than to take a lighter to the plastic arms and melt them to the correct level? That's the only way I've ever gotten them adjusted correctly... the metal tab makes it sooo much easier- and this is a Dellorto carb too! It's running and sounds great! Here's my totally redneck fuel "test" setup lol: I let my 'Mixmizer' syringe be the fuel tank and clamped a piece of filter over the carb opening just to get it running since the stock airbox on these things are such a PITA to work around when trying to connect/disconnect the fuel and vac lines over and over until the carb float is adjusted just right. Looks like I'll be seeing if this girl can wheelie tomorrow!

very nice work niz76. I would keep the flirty nerdy dirty sticker however. Balance point wheelie for a quater mile or so, put the front end back down, just to tell everyone that the man doing these wheelies is very flirty dirty n nerdy #pocketchange

I'm still drooling over that exhaust....::drool::
I'd love to get 190Mech to build something similar for my 103cc

I'm still drooling over that exhaust.... I'd love to get 190Mech to build something similar for my 103cc Earlier I took it out for a spin but I have a ways to go on carb tuning- it's spitting and sputtering atm but occassionally it'll 'kick in' and wow! I think this GP is going to be a nice torquey exhaust!

Now I'm polishing body panels after removing all the stickers and soldering connectors to the ends of the aftermarket led turn signals since the P.O. just jammed the wires inside the female bullet connectors and crimped them shut! The turn signals need to have connectors since the whole rear body panel comes off in one piece...

Wow, I just happened across something somewhat accidentally while repairing the broken speedo and I figured I'd share.... If you start with this: And do this: You end up doing this: Whoa! IDK if somebody has already mentioned this before (I'm sure someone has) but I can attest that it DOES work!

I must be tired cause I don't get it... I hooked my drill to the speedo cable and subtracted mileage from the odometer

I've made up my mind to sell this scoot. I know it's a nice keeper but I really want a Dio! I finished up everything but the final carb tune and maybe CVT tune but it's raining cats and dogs today so no tuning for me The speedo wasn't working and come to find out the tabs were broken off the green gear inside the speedo puck but a few well placed screws has it working again! I keep looking at the front of this scoot and it just doesn't 'seem' right. It seems too bare and boring. i don't really feel like getting into another paint project on this scoot so I dug around and found a piece of black vinyl left over from my vinyl wrapping projects. I did some 'European racing stripes'. It's kinda subtle look but I like it! Scoot should be ready for sale any day now- I plan to ask $900 for it.
