We know you will make it a runner again man! I'm tryin! I'm having real bad thoughts about this engine now. For some reason it has become practically stuck. I keep thinking about those missing circlips and now I'm second guessing myself thinking I should have tried harder to locate them inside the engine. Maybe I should've really flushed the cases out good... maybe of the two circlips I installed one has popped out and I'm causing damage by trying to turn the tight engine over too many times... All speculation until I dig back into her though. The good news is I have a plan haha. There's nothing more frustrating than to know I have a buyer lined up and waiting and all I have to do is get this thing to run good! If there is damage to the crank or bearings I'm planning to swap the engines from the two prebugs. I'll take the Athena cylinder and LV ZX off and swap with the stock cylinder and LV GP... The buyer will have his faster Zuma back and that will give me time to install a new crank and bearings on the other one. Of course, the Polini clutch will probably end up in my 90cc Gearing up for round three with this dang engine!! Ding Ding byatch! Where there's a will there's a way! Hope its nothing too bad man!

Didn't get much accomplished on this fine Sunday between football and Christmas tree decorating and pics with Santa etc.. It seems I may have salvaged this crap battery by adding (distilled) water to each of the cells. It's charged to 100% and 13.4v now where before it would charge for hours and hours and only reach 7%. It was an SLA- now it's just an LA haha. The Polini clutch I found: This will definitely end up in my scoot! hehe The gear cover has "Made in Italy" on it. I wonder if it's Polini or Malossi?? I'll get a better look at it when I replace the Polini clutch... When I was at Advanced Auto last week they had their nice big glass marine fuel filters on sale for $1.29! wow. They only had one left or I would've bought them all. I really like these fuel filters. Oh and one last thing- because I am a proud daddy and just can't help myself haha. My two little angels! Happy Holidays!

Well this is interesting- I guess the "Made in Italy" gear cover isn't aftermarket... Here's what I found elsewhere on this case: Kinda funny because here's a pic I took from the 2005 Bugeye Zuma case: Hmm Hmm well laa tee da- maybe I should start referring to this scoot as an MBK Booster lol.

I'm totally having an internal debate right now. The big end of this crank just isn't right- it's tight. It's way better than what is was but it's still "sticky". I worked on this baby for a couple hours last night. Here's what I did: I filled the cases with 2t pre-mix fuel + additional oil and flushed the crap out of them - for nearly 2 hours! There was a lot of crap inside the cases and I even pulled out a decent sized piece of metal in the beginning. Here you can see all the crap that was splashing out and that piece of metal. It seems that a bunch of little particles were clogging the big end of the crank and causing it to ocassionally bind up. I filled the cases and ran the engine with my electric drill on the vari nut. I filled, ran, and emptied, filled, ran, and emptied over and over again. I was slowly getting the junk out and the crankshaft was binding less frequently... I came up with a solution so I could run the engine at high speed without the crankshaft slapping badly- a pair of channel locks vise-gripped to the studs! After a while it became apparant that I may never get all the tiny metal crap out at this rate. That's when I had an idea that was a stroke of genius! haha. I stuck u long magnet down into the "wash" while spinning the engine at full speed. I did this for probably an hour and everything got cleaner and cleaner until the magnet had a layer of crap on it. It's sparkling clean now but the big end of the crank still just seems "sticky". Not really any resistance I can speak of anymore while turning it with the drill but I checked another crank and the big end just flops around- this is definitely not flopping freely. So I'm wondering if it's any good. I guess I'll give it a shot and just see if it seizes up lol. My internal debate is that even if it seems fine after a lot of running I feel like I'd be selling a scoot with a crank that I don't have 100% faith in... Hmmm

Ya know what? I just can't do it lol. I guess typing these things helps me resolve the questions in my head haha. The crank is just no good plain and simple. I will swap the motors and buy a new crank for this engine- yet another reason for me to keep it hehe.

Just do it and keep 1 Prebugs are slick as ****, plus I think with all the knowledge you have, you could build one of these verts to put out some real power like a 65mph+ wheelie machine.

It's important that when performing a transplant like this that the donor and recipient be genetically compatible. Luckily these two scoots are brother and sister haha.
