Try another base gasket and see what the numbers are.A lot of boost ports open later than the primaries to keep the mixture in the cylinder instead of straight out the exhaust port.. Ive set up a few with positive deck height, thats common with stroked cranks..The combustion chamber may need to be recut to clear the piston and get the proper squish.A few extra head gaskets can sometimes be used to correct a slight positive deck height.. Well i do believe he was right.... AGAIN.... I went and installed an extra base gasket and the numbers look alot better now.. I was thinking the numbers would go in the oppisite direction.. I now have a 184* ex. 126* trans. 124*boost with a .9? squish. Been triple checking the numbers and i come up about the same everytime..

Wish I could see pics in this thread.... Does this scoot have the SF 10 engine? Hey bigkahuna, No, the zx uses a honda dio clone engine.. The Super 9, cobra, ppl use the sf10 engine. The zx is a loner in the kymco world. I was slightly wrong with my numbers earlier this a.m....... I looked at my notes and they are as follows..... I get anywhere in between these #'s here everytime... 180-184* EX. 126-130* TRANS. 128-130* BOOST..

HEy there. It's me again.. Believe it or not i have been trying to port the cases and cylinder for this new build and i have a question about something...1st, here is a few pics.... Here is the boost on the 50 kit. Need to match it closer to the skirt........ Not as pretty as i wanted ATM. MAybe i can make it better.... Here is what the "NEW" boost port looks like now... Almost got it and the trans tunnel done... BUT, my question is... While i was working on the boost tract, a small "air pocket" showed up. You can see the pin size pocket in the pic on the tract... WILL/CAN this alter my engine or will it be ok as is?

I get that kind of stuff here and there on mine. Just the way it's cast or something I suppose.

Sounds good to me then.... I cant seem to get the "shine" as well as i'd like it to be in the ex.port. Need a few more bits for the dremel.....

The exhaust port now. Hoping i got it at the right timing number...lol....Still don't have the "mirror" shine down yet.(my flapwheel is to big for one thing, no small sandin wheels either)....

Polishing the ex port seems overrated to me. Seems like when I have done it I don't notice any difference. A mirror finish and just a smooth sanded finish seem to collect carbon at the same rate pretty much from what I've seen.
