The air gap is ok. Didnt measure the voltage yet... Could putting the stator on with no gasket behind it cause issues? Evsn though im not using oil pump?

As long as it's not packed with grease behind it, you'll be fine. No gaskets on mine for years.

OK. I was thinking maybe it could short to ground if it was touching the case, like maybe it was grounding on the case or something.. IDK LOL Just a desperate thought because I dont want to condemn the stator as bad just because its expensive.

Disconnect the stator and kick the engine over with a DMM attached to the pickup wire from the stator and a ground on the other probe. Should get something near 0.5VAC. If not, first check the reluctor air gap (0.010-0.030"). So its official the reluctor air gap is within spec (0.023in.) and its only giving me 0.1VAC! *sigh* I lucked out on a used one but it has to come from the UK.. It was my least expensive option and it still was expensive! Also I been doing some reading and I think that my terminology was off I should have said it felt like it was "cutting out" not "bogging".. Its kind of easy to confuse the two, especially over the inter webs. Sorry about that.. Anyways wish me luck on this one!

Not sure how yours is setup, but if you can it would be worth trying to move the pickup to about 0.010" from the reluctor. Prob not gonna work, but at this point why not.

Maybe it's a lemon? You know...one out of XXX scooters or cars that just have a bug inside them.
Are you sure you got the right compression? And what Main Jet size do you use at the moment?

At least this stator is putting out.5 VAC. Any thing else yall can think of or am I just SOL with an unsolvable mystery?? Man, you got so much work in this project, you gotta get it running! Can you fit a stock air box on it for temporary? I was having similar issues with my 99cc and switched to a stock airbox, things got better.

No I dnt have the airbox, I have one for a Jog but not a Zuma... So I got this crazy idea to install a ground strap from the engine to the frame to help my ignition system work properly.. It worked on my cars in the past I hope it works this time. I mean I REALLY hope it does the trick.

The ground strap made no difference.. Now Im completely stumped. Maybe I need a Zuma wiring harness... IDK Im demoralized and defeated on this one

You're running the 19 mm dell. The little brass or copper washer looking thing that is held in place by the main jet... Do you have it in the carb? If so, which way is it facing? Lip up or down? Actually doesn't matter or this experiment; take it off and see what happens.

I went through your thread, noticed that you are running the 19mm Dellorto. There is a brass splash guard that is held on by the main jet. If that is turned the wrong way (usually on reassembly from cleaning) it will cause the symptoms that you are describing. Remove the offending garbage or flip it the other way and hopefully you'll be smiling again.
