You'll need to check out the brake switch. You should see two wires going up to your brake lever. Follow those to find the brake switch. If your other brake lever works well, you can probably look at it to see if there's anything wrong with how the switch is mounted or being actuated. If all looks and feels alright with the switch then maybe it just needs to be replaced.

Okay ill have a look tomorrow, thanks!
@90gtvert I was also reading one of your CDI mods in the tech library and I'm wondering if any stock CDI's have a certain restrictor wire and if you can cut it.
I also took those tacky blinkers off today. Looks much cleaner now!

adjust the brake light switch. Is there any certain way to adjust it? I played around with it a little bit today but couldn't change much..

usually you can adjust the position of the switch to be closer or further away from the btake lever..

Not gonna go fiddling around with it cutting wire if no one here knows much about it

Be careful with that because the signal from the pickup so it knows when to fire is somewhere around 0.5V.

Not all after market CDI's cost a fortune. Look for a local bike parts dealer or search in ebay. I wouldn't recommend to cut wires. I picked up mine in a local bike store for 70 bucks. So if new cost 70 maybe 2nd hand is around 40-50 bucks? (Just as an example)

Some do, but I don't recall hearing that about Jogs. I've read somewhere that if you check with a multi meter the wire with .5v is the restrictor wire. Not gonna go fiddling around with it cutting wire if no one here knows much about it I totally "depotted" a CDI looking for a way to undo the restriction (it was a stock DC Eton Beamer CDI). It had exactly the wires coming out of it that it needed to be connected- no more no less. I had a clear view at every component on the board and still no way to derestrict it. If it doesn't have the green wire that loops out and back in that you can cut- I've found it's basically useless trying to derestrict it. Of course your CDI is certainly different, just saying that I've been down that road before trying to derestrict a stock CDI that didn't have the green wire loop and from my experience pretty much the only option is to simply replace it. EDIT: Of course, if anyone knows which component on the board in a CDI is responsible for the restriction I'd love to know what it is!

Hey guys!
I've done a fair bit more of work to my Jog in the past couple days, I've painted the wheels and exhaust, re-wired the old indicators and took the new ones off, installed a new horn, removed the restrictor washer behind the front pulley, got a new front pulley, new Polloni belt, heat shrinked all the wiring, charged battery, cut the fender down and many other little things. Im now managing to just get to 60kph and still looking to go faster!! (The acceleration is a lot better now as well)
I went and saw the local scooter guy who i bought the pulley and belt off and I also asked about getting new rollers/silders, torque spring, clutch springs and a performance CDI and he basically said not to get any of that unless I was going to buy a new performance exhaust to even out the rpms.. (and he said that trying to find a performance CDI for a 2010 Jog in Aus would be extremely hard.. so any online links for one that ships to Aus would be great help)
Sooo, after him telling me that what else would you guys do? Im not looking forward to spend heaps yet just some small things to get me another 5kms or so!
Any help would be appreciated, Thanks!
p.s i'll post some pics tomorrow!

Seems 90% of the advice that the "pros" give is useless haha. The performance CDI is not really needed unless the stock one is restricted (I doubt it is). Nothing wrong with CVT tuning! CVT tuning with the parts you mentioned will help you get your scoot doing what you want it to! There's a million different combo's depending on what your goal is... Probably have to retune your CVT when you get a new exhaust but that's no reason not to tune it now!

When i get to around 55km/h the engine seem to hit the limiter and starts limiter bashing, is that because of the CDI that restricts it or its just completely maxed out? thanks

Great looking scoot. Usually if it's just maxed out it doesn't sound like a rev limiter. Does it do the same thing on the stand (be careful not to let it fall off and take off)? Lots of CDIs for Jogs here, but I don't know if yours is different. Most show the connections so you can see what matches your wiring. www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_sacat=0&_nkw=jog+cdi&rt=nc&LH_PrefLoc=2
