Sounds like it, could also be weak spark.

If a carb is acting up and I'm not sure which way to tune, lean or rich- I'll partially cover the airbox opening with my hand (restricting air= richer) to if it acts better or worse then tune from there with jets...

I briefly took apart the Carb and it all seemed to be clean and all the jets looked unblocked, i also had a look spark plug and it didn't seem too bad either, I just had a quick going over it with a wire brush and all seemed alright! I think I'm going to get a new plug and start looking around at getting a big bore kit. Any recomendations if I want to get a higher top speed while still maintaining good acceleration?

Big bore kit, pipe, taller gears, bigger carb.

Are there many kits around that have that all in the one bundle package? I'm not too keen on ordering parts individually as Im not too great trying to figure out all the tuning for different parts having differnt power increase's

PFS has a Hoca "Power Pack" (part #169-210) that has a BBK, carb, intake, reed block w/CF reeds, pipe, variator, front fixed drive face, clutch, one set of rollers, and one contra spring for $500. You can sign up for their newsletter and prob get 10-15% off if you wait for the right promo code. I'd rather piece it together though and have what I want, and I don't know of a kit that has gears in it too. We can help you out with choosing when you're ready. Have you tried what niz76 suggested yet? Restricting or allowing more airflow is a quick way to get an idea of what's up.

What 90 said!! Get your own thing going. You may not even need the larger carb. Just start deciding what bbk and pipe you want, post here, and 90 and the rest of the vets will help you find a well balanced set up to suit your needs.

I would say fix the problems before upgrading. its likely that even if you get a big bore kit and that pipe, you will have the same problem as before. Just my

Good news, I found and for the time been fixed the problem! hopefully :3 I was looking over everything and noticed 2 things, 1. the hose clamp holding the carb onto the rubber intake hose was loose and 2. the rubber intake hose had a split in it.. So for the time being i went all bush mechanic on it and used some rubber super glue and duct tape to cover up the split to stop extra air getting in.. fingers crossed this is the problem as when i started it up it was no longer happening but you never know!

That is right Brent 90GTVert the Yamahas use a 10mm pin. Most BBK here in Japan use 10mm. A 12mm piston, needle bearing and 12mm crank are optional.
