It sounds as if Jog1 has a worn torque spring. Maybe going slightly stiffer may be good too, to help you get your hill climbing ability back.

Yeah, a stiffer torque spring is a must have for me. The last time i checked the yellow spring (one above stock) was not enough when using the OR variator so i will try it with a red one once and see what results i'll get.

After two days here is the current situation with Jog 1. Take off: very nice, strong start at around 7000rpm Mid-Range: Hilarious! very bad. No power, no response what so ever. Up hill I get speeds of max. 35km/h. Today even a 4 stroke Jog beat me uphill. There was a moment were I thought I better get off the Scooter and push it uphill. Top-Range: When reaching 50km/h and more some sort of turbo boost kicks in. Crazy acceleration! Top Speed reached according Ulysse was 77km/h that is a plus of 9km/h
Today I put back the yellow (+3%) torque spring. Same roller weights as before (6x 5.5g) Let's see what tomorrows day brings. Probably a new record for me; open and taking apart two CVTs and switching clutches and put back everything together within 15 min.

Once you have had the cover off a few times its like second nature to take it all apart again.

Me and birdman went to the auto parts store today to look for something that might clean/polish up those sunburned inner panels of mine. And what did we find? Armorall! So I bought that and tried it out but no luck. The panels didn't change at all the just get kinda slippery but not black or darker. I did more research and found Mothers Back to Black at amazon Japan for $20. I went to the local bike shop to ask the dude to try that Wakos Super Hard Wax ($60) to the most burned part of the panel and man that liquid does wonders! So now I have to decide if I should go with the expensive solution that I know 100% will do a good job or I try and order Mothers Back to Black. I have still 2 days until payment day, till then I have to make up my mind.

I have to rush to DMV, but here are a few before and after pics using Back to Black. The stuff is pretty amazing and it lasts a long time. There are other tricks that you can also use with a heat gun and you can see those on youtube. You must be extremely careful though because it can easily ruin your plastics if you're not. Here's just a couple. I'll show you more later:

Spaz what's the process with that? I have the kit that includes the brush but I didn't get those type of results

Mine didn't come with a brush, so possibly it's different? I'll find the bottle later and post a picture. I also didn't get those results with one application. I probably did that 4 or 5 times. Maybe more? I'd rub the crap out of it in the really bad places and did that multiple times. There is a tiny bit of heat gun work done to it as well, like around the deep scratches in the knee panel. Again, you must be very, very careful with a heat gun but you can do amazing things with them if you have practice.

This is another Derbi that I was working on and you can see the stress cracks in the fender. I couldn't use just the Back to Black to cover it up. I had to use a heat gun. I don't have any good closeups of that one when it was finished, but it came out very nice.

Spaz: Wow! Those are really impressive results there. The Armorall worked for me but...not like that. Mine were not all that faded as my scoot was garage kept by the guy I got it from. Those panels look freaking new man. I wonder what the "active" ingredient is in that stuff and maybe we could make our own cheaper? Is there a list of ingredients? If not, what does it smell like? Very good results over there and I am really impressed. Bill PS I just found Mother's back To Black 12 oz. for $7.99 here: Back to black

Found this at Consumer Reports: "For the plastic-trim restorers, Marc used old, dull car panels. Each product was applied to a section and then the panels were put on the roof to face the elements. Some didn't last very long. The Meguiar's Ultimate Black Plastic Restorer and the Mothers Back-to-Black looked completely faded by day 45. The Turtle Wax Premium Grade Trim Restorer looked faded by day 57. Two stood out from the pack: the Wipe New for $18 and the $15 ReNu Finish still looked great after 70 days. " Link here: linkBill

Here is what Wakos does. This was done in 3 seconds and not even properly on the worst area of my Scooter. After that i could add some Armorall protective coat and all should be nice and shining. Update: wipe new looks very interesting if it really is that easy to apply. I doubt though that it will last for years. But even then, wow to the results.

I got the other one from a tow yard and don't know it's history, but it was in really bad shape and I'd actually bought it for parts but came across another Derbi days later and ended making one good one out of the two 'parts' bikes. Anyway, I sold the black one and have know idea what it looks like now. The red one was kept in my garage until I lost my house and it has since been in my buddies back yard, under a cover. Other than a few cob webs and dust, it still looks amazing. How long it would last in direct sunlight is anyone's guess, but I can say that since it's not been in direct sunlight, it's held up well for years. Not days.
