There are different ways to install the BBK. One method would be to remove the entire engine which means you

remove the rear shock,
unhook or remove rear brake cable,
remove the carburetor from the intake,
drain the oil tank empty to remove the oil hose,
remove the pipe/exhaust,
remove spark plug cable,
remove CVT cover if you have that clutch lock thing,
remove the mounting bolt.

Careful when removing the mounting bolt! The frame drops! So you better tight the scooter with some hooks or rope or whatever you have to prevent the scooter from dropping down or tip over to the side.

The other way would be to install it with the engine mounted which makes things really difficult do to lack of space around the Jog engine.

Did you buy a BR8HS spark plug?

thanks for that. I am guessing you need to disconnect the throttle cable from the carb also.
i have not bought any spark plugs. I was going to buy 4 for tuning when I reject the carb. Are they the same as the original model or are they different to suit the new head.

You don't have to unhook the throttle cable(s) if you use the same carb. Just pull it out of the black rubber intake and let it hang there. Of course the airbox has to go first before doing that.

The stock Jogs come with a BPR7HS or BPR6HS spark plug. You'll need an 8 for your new cylinder. So you either get a BPR8HS or BR8HS spark plug. I use BR8 spark plugs for both Jogs and had no trouble at all thus far.

Also very important is that you take your time and don't rush things when installing the BBK. Take your time with those piston pin C clips they can be a bitch to install but once you get the hang of it its super easy.

Hi

All I can get my hands on right now are NGK B8HS spark plugs. Will they be OK to use. The salesman at the motor cycle accessories store said that they don't have the resistor which I know but would work fine as there are no electronics to interfear with.

The BPR has a longer thread than the B or BR?

Yeah something like that. I think I should have both spark plugs somewhere. I can take a comparison picture if you like.

I have looked up a few charts and so far I have the B = 14mm thread width/ 20.8mm nut P = projected tip R = resistor 8 = temp H = 12.7mm thread length S = standard

Anyway now I know what the model means I just need to be sure I get the right one for the malosi 70 sports bbk.

Got me a Pi3 2 weeks ago and installed RetroPie and loving it. Took out my 2 old arcade sticks and enjoying a couple beat em up sessions.
Can't do much on a scooter during these cold days so a different entertainment must be found.
