spaz12 moofus02 was looking for gears for a Minarelli short case and somehow this got me veeeeery interested since it is one of few mods left to do on my red Jog. Now there are not many options besides Malossi primary gears, either 15/41 or 17/40 or was it 17/44?, and Polini secondary gears. I did some calculations and if I would use the Malossi 15/41 primary gears I should get a ratio of 8.8. Is that too low? (or do you call it high?) Can my red Jog pull that? What's the downside? Loss of take off power? I have the Malossi 17/40 and it works perfectly fine actually...look up my speedrun video. The gearratio is something like 7:1... My metrakit SP pipe gives max power @ 10k rpm and the axis turns about 11k rpms at max speed...id say i've got it geared just perfect. No excessive overrevs If you do a lot of <60mph city driving stock gearing will be enough. If you ride a lot on long strech rural roads 60>+ a longer gearset might be handy cous' of overrevs and all.

Lucass2TNot doing much of long driving. Mostly suburban or city like driving. Short, quick bursts to <60mph from traffic light to traffic light. So I guess gears is not really a priority then.

Raizer How are you? It's been a while. How's the Scooter running? How is the Next-R? Good bottom punch? How is the top speed? I was thinking of getting the Trek but the Next-R seems to be in a similar price range. Yeah it's been too long! I have been reading the forum most nights though. Scoots going ok, but I've only really been warming it up once in a while around the yard, spring is here now and the weather is warming up fast so I plan on getting a few months registration next week and I'll start riding it regularly again!! Still got to get my S6 pipe on too. I can only really compare the Next to the stock pipe, but I'm pretty happy with it in comparison, decent low down torque (my clutch engages a bit early though at 4000rpm, it starts really pulling strong from about 6000rpm) and power right up to around 9500rpm or more on my Suzuki.

I literally hate the dancing banana, but well, it's the only dancing character we have. And I'm sure that you're all happy lol

The rock on character would be a good replacement for the banana.

lol, it's Monday here, I am from the future. They deliver stuff even on Saturday or Sunday. It's Japan man, here they work 24/7. Not sure if we still need measurements for a Next-R but I'll take pictures as soon I get home from work and after I went to the local bike shop to grind out the restrictor.
