Had to use 2 base gaskets the one that came with the taida kit and a hoca one, the hoca was slightly thicker but worked out almost perfect I think. This lil QMBEAST is a peppy lil thing. Haven't opened it up all the way yet but at around half throttle I'm cruising at about 40mph and it gets there FAST

Well after only 28 miles on the build I had an issue today snapped the timing chain hoping I didn't mess anything up to bad such as valves hitting piston or screwed up any teeth on the crank. When I put this together I knew it was a tight fit. Do they make longer timing chains for stroker cranks? If so could I plz get some links

There are longer chains for stroker 150s, but I don't recall seeing them for 50s. Taida makes them for 150s, so you could try inquiring about a 50 chain where you bought your parts.

Finally got around to making a longer timing chain added 2 links to it (hope that works) sonit went from 41 links to 43 links, the only thing I could find was a 45link but that wouldvr been too long

Nice work. Lot of time painting a scooter. On that chain, how did you split and replace the links exactly? The nail and the pop rivet have me wondering...I have never had to do that and I was thinking about a way you can thread it into the engine and then connect the chain so you don't have to pull the cases apart

Now I coulda spent $60 and ordered the one they sell on partsforscooters and saved some time but I really didn't have it to spend after Christmas and all

Ouch. Seems like those are worth a shot. Other option would be contact a Taida dealer about replacements.

Yes it was very time consuming took about 3 days in all took 2 hrs just in taping up one side panel and cutting out puzzle pieces and had to do it 3x so yeah it's not perfect but looks good on camera and from a distance lol but I'm happy with it for now
