Keep This Jog!! You wont be sad. Put your 90cc on this!! Otherwise you may be making a huge mistake.. Haha Birdman- I know I love a good Jog. Doesn't everybody? The scoots on the top of my "keeper" list are Piaggio powered! I've been wanting to do a DIO build too... I will eventually find a Typhoon or now I'm even thinking I'd like a Vespa ET2!

The turn signals came in already too... It's a little backward from how I usually start but I started on some the Jog cosmetics. I'm not looking to do a full paint job here as I'll need to paint the rims and I'm thinking the 'inside' plastics too. Here's the front handlebar plastic- it's in kinda rough shape: I removed the sticker from it and gave it a good wet sand to remove as many blemishes as possible... ...Then started buffing! Turned out pretty nice! Looks good with the "new" turn signals and lenses installed. The front was in the same rough-but-not-too-bad shape. I removed the decals... ...And gave it the same treatment. They're not perfect but it should be a pretty nice scoot for the 8 or $900 I'll ask for it...

Rim/Tire just showed up!! It's totally flat and the bead area looks real dirty and sandy. Hmmm.....

Just swap engines with your Rocketa and this Jog then flip the Roketa and keep the Jog. So when you do find that Piaggio and and DIO to add to your line up.. Youll have 3 of the baddest scoots ever. You already broke my heart by letting the prebugs go, dont do it again niz76 by letting this beauty go.

I like my big beast daily driver- fast and comfy! I actually have considered doing a swap with my 90cc though- it'd have to be into a bigger scoot. I've considered a Benelli X50 (love those!) or an Aprillia, or something a bit larger anyway. For a secondary scoot I'd like a small wheelie machine ripper. I love the pre-bugs and Jogs no doubt but I'm a different kinda guy and like the different stuff like the Typhoons and just missed a Pugeot Speedfight once- maybe one day I'll have a 90cc ripper Jog but for now there's still so many different scoots I want to get my hands on!

Awesome work on the plastic resto! TY sir! I swear the Permatex Moto1 seal and a buffer pad with "headlight restore compound" are my two favorite things when working on scoots!

Wow, this seat cover fit so poorly that I had to go back to my Ebay purchase history and make sure I bought the right one for this Jog- I think I did... it fits that bad! I probably started over and pulled staples 5 times over. It seemed like a chore just to get the 'Yamaha' logo centered properly- still not 100% satisfied with it. In the end I still had to collect all the extra material at the front of the seat and make a fold-over seam. The piping that's supposed to be at the front of seat isn't even visible- it's all stretched and stapled underneath! I used the heat gun and my knee to stretch this thing so tight a quarter bounces to the ceiling off of it! Seriously though, I either bought the wrong one somehow or this thing is not even close to the original seat cover. At least the back of the seat says 'Yamaha' and that's pretty much why I paid the extra $$ instead of just doing my usual Walmart material job...

I hear ya Niz.. Im a smaller guy 150lbs so I can easily get carried away with small scoots. The debate between comfort vs performance is something me and my father have been debating about for YEARS.. So I can understand you valuing the creature comforts.. Also that seat cover looks good even though your not satisfied with it, I think it looks great! I was thinking of pulling the trigger one one for my 1990 Jog

Hey good score on the Jog. Nice to see other old Japanese scoots on this board. My '83 Honda also came with a brown title. Unfortunately they will replace it with a shiny new blue one. Keep us updated on ur progress and keep the old scoots going.

I ordered a new tire for the front of this Jog from Parts For Scooters for $25 and it arrived today. It wasn't too much trouble getting the old tire off and the new one on with a good pair if screwdrivers but I did have a little trouble setting the bead. Yep- I even resorted to the ol' starting fluid and flame method! In the end i just put the rim on a laundry basket and gave the right amount of pressure on all sides while airing it up to finally get it seated. Here's the rear rim prepped and ready for paint: I wanted to something special with this Jog while not getting too crazy. I decided to get a little creative with the color scheme- tan! I think I may have a problem; I'm addicted to Glitter Blast! Haha. I sprayed the rear rim and it just seemed too... boring...too 'flat'. I added glitter blast to give it a little sparkle! Hehe Yeh I'm addicted.. It doesn't show up very well on camera :/ This Jog still has a little way to go before it's ready to sell so I decided to check around for a scoot that might be a little quicker to flip in the meantime. I have an appointment set to go check this one out this evening- This one's for you birdman!
