I don't think ZTR is around anymore or not doing the scooter stuff. I may be wrong. The springs I have from them fit tight on the torque driver cover/spring base. I don't like that much. I prefer that the spring is more free and less likely to bind. That said, if it's working for you then I prob wouldn't swap it. Maybe next time try another brand though.
Hard to know what clutch springs work best. I had one stock clutch that like 1000-1500RPM and another stock replacement on the same scoot that needed 2000 to work best. If I were to only choose 1 set, I'd think 1500 may be the way to go. If it's revving too high, then get 1000RPM later. If it's still revving too low, go for 2000RPM when you can.

That ztr spring wwas already in it and is working fine so not gonna mess with it for now. Does hoca make clutch springs I can't find any for this motor just some no-name ones?

Hoca does make them because I have owned them before. I don't know that it matters a whole lot if the springs are from any certain brand. I've used unbranded clutch springs plenty of times with good results.

Ok thanks. Hopefully this will help my launch I'm happy with it so far but it's those cpl sec. When I 1st hit throttle that it barely even moves then it takes off just fine

Ok so after riding it a lil more than just up the road and back it seems it doesn't wanna shift from 1st gear or it just flys through them way to quick my top speed is about 35ish and it sounds like it's bouncing off the rev limiter or something could the rollers be too light causing this?

The rollers may be too light or the contra spring may be too strong.Try some heavier rollers first and go from there.

Also use a magic marker to mark the face of your variator. This will tell you how far the belt is traveling up the pulley. The higher the belt goes up,the higher the top speed.

Just a quick update the scoot was down for about a month me being broke from the other project and lack of time left to mess with it. Anyways I got it back up and running. Trying to figure out what to do and where I was at on this thing lol. I did change the reed valve back to the stock one when I cleaned the carb (the bigger took away take off) so I'm satisfied with that now. But before I put the hoca variator on I was hitting 53mph now I'm only getting to about 40 but a lot faster. Don't know my rpms cause I don't have a tach. My guess is try heavier rollers? If so what would u suggest I think I currently have a mix of 4 & 6g. Would like to get her back up to par b4 i do this motor swap

Mark the variator with a straight line from center to outer edge using a marker. Run it to top speed. Put the 6g in there and do the same. Keep notes of that and any other details like speed and RPM and feel so it will help you decide what needs to happen next.
