They'll do 90MPH stock, as long as you drop them from high enough.
Realistically a typical stock GY6 150 will do 55-60MPH, possibly more in good conditions and tucked down. They can go quite fast with enough work. You can find some pretty nasty 232cc GY6 150 based setups online. Just watched a vid the other day of one doing 72MPH in the 1/8 mile.
Get someone to film it for us if you line them up.

my 190cc (when it ran) still had room to go at 68mph, it was still not in the red on the tach. red line started around 72mph.

My Kymco 150cc does 106KPH/65-66MPH on a flat Highway flatout. It will go beyond 115KPH(70MPH) with a down slope. My old CF Moto 150cc did an indicated 120KPH/75MPH(more like 110-115KPH) on the same stretch of highway but it had 16" wheels and tyres as appose to the 12" on the Kymco.

I've read the reviews of newer 150s from big name manufacturers doing 70MPH on flat roads, but those are not 2V old school budget Chinese engines like a TaoTao would have.

Too True. Mines not set up for a high top speed but good acceleration and torque for commuting.

I've been on a bone stock 150cc.... Could of cruised at 55mph all day....It isn't worth a motorcycle license though
