I wanted to see if i would benefit from any modifications to the variator for more belt travel. This is what I found: That seems like it's pretty much all she's got doesn't it? Not sure if I feel comfortable filing down the drive faces for more. I was comparing this to others I've seen on the forum. Then I thought about the over range variator mod. I found this: This is the stock variator. Doesn't seem like I can do anything there either. What are yall's thoughts on this?

That's pretty much what mine is doing (belt travel). Seems pretty normal for a basically stock CVT. The OR mod was for the 2T Minarelli's CVT. Those posts won't actually make it go faster or travel more. It just lets it travel more with the ramp plate well supported so guides don't constantly break for that application.
Probably the easiest thing to do would be try and aftermarket variator. The Hoca is about $50, though they are 10% off this month at PFS . There's a DLH of Koso on eBay that can usually be had for $20-30. You can try heavier rollers, but mine hasn't seemed to gain travel beyond there with heavier sliders.

I finally ordered my BBK tonight. Went with the 02starrider 50mm kit with BVH and a9 cam. I'm pretty excited. I also went ahead and bought a gates powerlink belt and a new variator fan cause the previous owner broke the kick start and shredded it. I'll keep you guys updated when it comes in.

Finished installing the kit tonight. Pretty easy and straight forward. I'll have to do some port matching. The intake manifold and spacer are WAY off and it bugs the crap out of me. Also have to put some fresh oil in. It's late and my room mate is sleeping so I can't use the dremel. My muffler is really loud so I don't want to wake the neighbors. So that makes me have to wait until tomorrow for first start up. bollocks.

So that makes me have to wait until tomorrow for first start up. bollocks. I have the same head. I also had the same skin crawling irritation from the port not matching the intake manifold and spacer gasket. My solution: www.ebay.com/itm/161718008271?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AITwww.ebay.com/itm/130973140607?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AITMatched the hole in the valve head almost perfect. Tried the dremel on the stock spacer gasket first and cracked it. The carburetor didn't fit in the manifold right. It's a little over sized. So I took the clamp off of the old manifold and used that instead. Worked perfect.

Very cool info man, thanks. Might as well go to a 150cc carb as well right??? JK. I try the 150cc intake and 24mm 150c carb and the carb is to big for that size valve head. shots flames 7-8 inch out the pipe
