Finished my engine mount, i wanted to do a test fit of the engine in the frame, but it was WAY TOO dark out in the garage to see where the bolts went. not having proper lighting sucks.
but tomorrow when there is more light i can test fit the engine and then continue and finish my swap.

AWESOME, the engine aligns perfectly. but now i kinda messed up, the vent tube interfers with the frame, so i tried to take it off and ended up cracking the valve cover where it attached. so now i have it patched with JB weld and once it cures im going to drill and tap a new vent line. i would post the damage but postimage.org isnt working at the moment.

well, i got the swap complete, physically and electronically, just need to put on the new throttle cable.
but now that i have it together, it wont start? it has great compression at 173psi, its getting fuel and air. but all its doing it backfiring. so im thinking that my timing isnt set properly. if its not set correctly then that would explain the backfiring and the no start issue. so im going to have to take the valve cover off, the tensioner off and advance or retard the cam chain 1 tooth and see if that works.

got the timing fixed, and got the engine all ready, but its too late to fire it up and make noise. so tomorrow we will see how the beast runs.

well crud, it wont start. it gets air, fuel, compression and has spark. the timing is all set, and everything it hooked up right, but it just wont start. so im thinking the cdi that i have for it is FUBAR! so monday im going to have to order a new one.

If it's not backfiring or kicking back hard or anything like that, you could try covering the carb mouth or taking the filter off to see if any mixture change helps.

Well, figured I should update this thread.
The whole problem I was having was that the intake valve somehow got bent, and I lost compression. So I ordered a complete new valve set and that should take care of the problem. The new valve set will be in either tomorrow or Wednesday. The after that I can reassemble the engine, set my timing and valve lash, check compression, and then reinstall the engine into the scooter and see if it will fire up. If it does fire up then comes tuning the carb. Mind ya I can't really drive it since it's in my basement at the moment and there is a snow storm outside.
Well. More updates to come and I'll be uploading more pictures as well.

Newest update.
i finally removed all the panels except for the floor board, knee panel and the lower handle bar cover and bean painting them. it was a bit of a process, and i still got some more coats of clear coat to put on each panel before they are done, but they are turning out great.
i would post the pictures, but the camera on my phone just doesnt take good enough pictures of the paint job to do it any kind of justice. so once i get them all finished, i will be taking photos of them outside when it is nice and sunny and bright. i still stuck with the black and red paint scheme, but those decals are all gone and the grey panels are now red as well. for the black panels except for the 3 panels i mentioned before im using rattle can rubber rocker guard and clear coat. not for any real added protection, but because i like the way it looks with the black textured paint job.
