Some shocks will and some won't. I dunno about the Eton specifically.

Havent messed with the shock yet, but with this nice weather Ive had the wrenchin urge so Im sure I will start doing more things.
Tried to install 5g weights at work yesterday and I think I may have fried my third variator. Getting terrible crank/driveline vibes as well as outrageous revs. Ordered the outer drive fan and a woodruff key at the minimum, hopefully I can salvage the variator and the crank splines arnt too messed up.
Im seeing some different methods of variator install than Ive been following. I slid the backplate/rollers/variator onto the crank and then slid the drive boss into that. Would it make a difference if I installed the boss first then slid the variator unit onto that? Also does it make a difference which way the weights are positioned in the ramps?

You can't fit the backplate of the vari over the boss, so the backplate has to go on 1st. Roller weights have to be positioned so they would roll up and down the ramp and not sideways. Sliders do have a more specific way that they must be positioned.

Thats what I figured, I just cant figure out why Im getting these crazy vibes, I cant figure out why this keeps happening. Everything slid on and off without too much hassle.
Also it looks like the variator halves are closer together than my last vari and arnt letting the belt go all the way to the bottom. Possibly linked to why I have 0 low end. Added a shim that came with the kit and low end is better but it limited my top speed. Something is still wrong. Prob gonna wait til my parts come in before I mess with it anymore and make it worse.

Well the motor keeps soft seizing and makes no power anymore. Im wanting to buy the 90cc motor from parts from scooters and putting a bigger carb on it. Does anyone know if it is just as simple as pulling the motor and bolting the new one in? Im trying to find out as much as I can about doing this swap.

Running lean, oiling issues, and other problems that can cause heat to build up can cause soft seizes.
Fitting the engine should just be bolt in. The one they sell should come with the proper mounts and drum brake from what the pics show. You will need to tune it once it's in. Scrappydogscooters sells those a little cheaper, but so far it sounds like everyone that's gone one here has had some sort of damage. Most minor, but still not cool.

So youre saying this is a direct swap and everything will fit? Im not gonna get to the rear wheel and not have it fit or something am I?

You can premix and run the stock carb. Your wheel will go right on. The only thing i can think of off the top of my head that MIGHT be different is the stator plug and or wiring? In that case you could use the stator out of your old engine.

I know I can I was just thinking something bigger might flow better. Its betweeen buying a used ruckus or trying to put this motor on. Im just trying to make sure everything will fit or I will be out 500. What all will I need to transfer over just to get it running?

Just your back wheel and your exhaust im pretty sure. Like i said, maybe your stator? Some mina,s have different wiring and or plugs from harness to harness and stator to stator. There are three different set-ups that i know of (have). The good news is, you can swap stators from motor to motor easy!

One thing to note, the Eton Beamer should be the small taper flywheel, small spline vari, 10mm wrist pin. That makes your old flywheel, variator, and possibly stator unusable on the 90. I think some of the stators you can just remove the little seal that goes over the crank and it works though. I really like the 21mm DellOrto on my 96cc, but they aren't cheap. I know dr1445 found a Dello 19mm knockoff cheap. A 19 or 21mm like that might be good choices. You can find Mikuni carbs around that size affordably on eBay too.

Will the 90 not have a vari and flywheel from the factory?

It should, I just figured it might be good to know not to plan on those bits being spares.

Oh ok thanks for the heads up. Trying to keep it as stock and reliable as possible. Haha. Hopefully get the order out tomorrow. I gotta sleep on it basically its between this, buying a used ruckus, or a china special 150 4 stroke on ebay. BTW I got the shock extension on and I was loving it I can easily roll over curbs now and it leans over farther.
