Yes, so which is better? Temperature at that hole for the engine or temperature of the water that comes from the radiator?

Closest to the cylinder head/combustion chamber, thats the hottest area.. What about the TTO temp gauge that Niz showed in the previous page? That looks like it has a T fitment for 2 hoses?

They've got it labeled as temp, but the one in your amazon link is actually a tach/hour meter. It gets a tach signal either by connection to the + side of the coil or you can just wrap the wire around the plug wire roughly 5 times. 49ccscoot.proboards.com/thread/1114/trail-tech-tachometer-installationIf you want an all-on-one or multifunction gauge from Trail Tech it would be the Vapor.

If you get a Vapor, or any other multifunction gauge, you'll have wires for power and each of the senders. The TTO gauges are nice for single simple add-ons that don't even require battery power. The downside to no batt power is that they last up to around 5 years and when the battery goes it's designed so it can't easily be replaced. The Vapor does one temp input, RPM, speed, and then things like a clock, odometers, etc... It's backlit. It will cost around $100 at the lowest unless you get lucky and find a sale or open box special. You may need extension wires as well, most likely, and those will add on $10-20 probably.

I have a motobatt 12v 8.5amp battery, and now that the electric pump is already taking extra power, would the battery be ok taking extra energy from this battery or do I need a bigger battery? Also, It seems that that Vapor is made for many different bikes. Can I just grab any of them and they'll work?

The Vapor really doesn't use much power. Shouldn't be an issue. Running a water pump, I'd prob be hooking up to a Battery Tender overnight anyway just to be sure it's always good to go. You need to look for which ones have a speedo sending unit that you think you can work with and the appropriate size thermocouple (10, 12, or 14mm spark plug) or other temp sender for your app. 49ccscoot.proboards.com/thread/8614/trail-tech-vapor-information-installationIf you tell them exactly what you need, a TT rep should be able to find a good match.

I think I'll go with the vapor. Motopartshub has that unit for $65 . . . it says replacement, but I hope it comes with all the attachment. I'm going to drill a couple holes on top of the stock speedo so what I can make a metal bracket and mount the Vapor on that. Question about the temperature reading... what's best? having it read from the cylinder head (coolant port) or spark plug or the radiator?

Coolant port,a spark plug probe doesnt work as well on a LC motor..

Sometimes if you see a Vapor listed as a replacement, that means you just get the actual gauge and no mounting hardware, senders, wires, etc... I'd guess you'll spend more buying them all individually than finding a kit that suits your needs.
