IF you have a threaded hole in the head for a thermocouple use that! Like 190 mech said!

Sorry im late to discussion but I just want to point out another temperature gauge.
I haven't gotten mine yet, but it was very cheap and looks like a good product.
Look on ebay at the store "procon products" they sell all sorts of temperature stuff. I got a LED gauge and a 120 degree spark plug washer thermocouple for $15 (they combine shipping just ask)
should be here any day now

I'm going to for the full Vapor, since I need to know the temp of the radiator out coolant , coolant in the head and MPH over 50 since the stock is only to 50mph with no tach.
Currently sanding the panels so I can apply the primer, paint then matte clear coat, while I wait for the crankshaft, upgears and the stage 6 Pro rep exhaust.
So far after driving around since THursday, the engine hasn't seized yet, so I'm assuming the liquid cooling is working flawlessly. (still only topping at 52mph though) So hopefully the exhaust and taller gear will do the job.

Take your time on the sanding and prep work. Any imperfections will show through the paint.

And what happened to the AC to LC conversion? Did everything go well? Pictures?
Regarding painting, take your time and don't rush things. Believe me i am talking out of own experience. Messed up twice before i understood that the prep work and execution are most important.

Did you remove the AC fan during conversion?Heard it uses 1 hp to run...

Did you remove the AC fan during conversion?Heard it uses 1 hp to run... No, I let it sit. I thought I need it to prevent the stator from frying and I thought it'll give extra cooling to the engine.

Get that dumb fan off of there! You dont need a power robbing part on that motor!!!

And the stator? Wouldn't it overheat without the fan?

No,it will not be any hotter than any other LC engine, lots of builders leave the side cover off.The Minarelli replaces the fan with 3 pegs that drive a cover mounted water pump..Get it off and gain 1 hp!!
Your ProRep pipe is coming along well, hope to tack weld it at work tomorrow..

Heck ya that's part of the fun of LC- fast revving because of no fan! Not that I would know...

Right Niz!The rich folk dabble in the LC motors,us poor folk watch the CHT gauge more than a young punk watches his smart phone while driving!!

Im not rich -_-
I just thought I've rebuilt the BBK 2 times now, might as well incur credit card debt and do EVERYTHING in one whole swoop CORRECTLY.
btw, just finished painting around 90% of the bike. All that's left is the side skirts, front rim and suspension spring.
