Didn't read your previous post that carefully but you say it takes 14 3/4 turn of the bell to turn the wheel 1 time? Thats a 14.75:1 ratio. If that's right you're having some crazy small gears! Not strange your top speed is low! So with the information we've got right now i'd suggest looking for some taller gears. I think somewhere around 10:1 would be a lot better! So that the bell turns 10 times to let the wheel turn once. I got a Malossi primary gear but they don't fit. They are too small. I have been looking for gears but couldn't find one :/ So I guess no matter how I tune the cvt, I'm stuck at 50mph yes?

Im sure there are super 8 gears somewhere. Malossi is not the only one that has gears you know?
Try polini, top performances, top racing, athena, DR.

I went to scooter attack and it looks like there's only malossi and Stage 6 gears. But those gears look smaller than the gear in mine. I already looked all over the place... unless I'm missing something?

triesandluth said: I'm already hitting recklessly high top speeds, take off could be better, but I haven't focused on that more than increasing the power of the whole thing. I've tried to keep it balanced with top speed, acceleration, and ability to handle down shifting well. The one's I'm looking at ate malossi htq 15/44 . I'm clueless to what that actually means. I haven't done my homework on that yet. Read more: 49ccscoot.proboards.com/thread/13639/malossi-upgears#ixzz3llR1qqkA

this is the gearbox of the super 8 see how big that intermediary gear is? The malossi 6711055 gear is too small. Im apprehensive if those other gears for the super 9 will be too small too?

I was trying to get you involved with triesandluth so that maybe you could collaborate since he should be able to help with the gear size and if they will fit or not. At least some dimensions.

normally (AFAK) aftermarket gears are always taller than stock gears.

I am actually without knowledge of the gears myself. My thread was in search of info. I do know that as is, my scooter is fast as a raped ape. Like I said in my other thread, I'm under the impression that the super 9 stock gears are already taller than most other scooters, including the super 8. I'm beginning to think that I have the fastest 50cc class scooter in town... 150cc scooters weep in my two stroke smoke!

I might get a wild hair soon and take it apart. If I do I'll take some pics and count some splines.

I'm more curious about the size of the gears, the one I bought from Malossi has too small of a circumference thus the gears wouldn't touch each other. stock is 15/46 and the malossi one I got was 15/44 If you look at the photo I posted above, you can see that the intermediary gear is very big.

I see, and the 15/44 is what I was looking into getting for mine... I did see a 15/71 set for the s9 this morning. Let me see if I can't dig up any helpful info...

youtu.be/A-mvewH-e1AHere's a video tearing down the gearbox of the super 9. Maybe it'll give you a bit of reference. I'd possibly be interested. Depends on what you want for it. I found someone that may give me what I think is a good deal. I really shouldn't be buying more parts at this time, but maybe... If you want to pm me a price maybe we can talk about payment and such

My s8 is definitely bigger so this one won't fit. Now I have to wonder if there is any taller gears for my s8...
