Everything looks great so far. Looking at those ports, I can see part of why you make so much power.

Hey, there's more to come yet . I also had time to tear apart the crankcases and stick the crank in the freezer last night. The mystery deepens, there's no sign of any leakage between the two halves. The only remaining place for coolant to get past is at the cyl-crank gasket. Oh, and I've finished priming the CVT cover

CVT cover got 3 coats of gloss black today. Probably going to do 5. New the order I posted above has been delivered, bearings have joined the crank in the freezer. I've been experimenting with crank case flowing/porting on my scrap crank case, seeing what can be done to improve the flow. I'm going back out in a mo to take some pics, criticism is highly welcomed Took the timings of the S6 racing cyl too, 194 ex, 135.4 transfer and 134 boost. Equates to 29.2 AVG BD.

Those are great numbers out of the box compared to what im used to seeing! Good deal!
It looks like the bridge is removable in the last pic of it.
Im sure you wont even need wings to fly when this is done. Hope it stays together for you a long time! Do you think the way you rev your engine real high before it warms up had anything to do with your rod failure?

Do you think the way you rev your engine real high before it warms up had anything to do with your rod failure? An experienced tuner reckons it's just flat out too much power for the little crank, I showed him the smashed crank when I stopped by on the weekend. They make less power when warm, so I wouldn't have said so. Scooter Attack reckons my new one's good for a race setup up to 15k. Should be sufficient I wouldn't much fancy removing the exhaust bridge, the combined width of both sides of the port (excluding the bridge width) is 44mm. The port would be over 100% of the bore dia all in Right, onwards to the promised pics First up, stock for comparison: And modified. I'm not sure I will do it like this on my new crank cases, I haven't decided yet: CVT cover: And the kickstart I picked up on the weekend:

I dunno if it's effective or not, but I like the epoxy blending.

I see a pretty good step(mismatch) in the transfer area and a little step in the boost port. Are you going to blend those in and match em up nice?

Even with the studs in i dont think it would be matched judging by the pics.?. But it sounds like you have a good plan! You doing the case work? Pics help me to notice that kinda stuff allot easier. Blessed be the zoom feature!
