Went down to Shiny's to get the CVT bolts removed. He had a better idea, a set of brand new crank cases for £20 ;D Engine is back together and running, full report will follow after a test ride in the morning.

Yup. Oh, and I collected the runner from him. I can tell you it's yellow and blue, and won't be for long

lol The green is pretty sweet too actually. I've always wanted a bright scoot, but I can never pass by the black. Maybe someday I'll pass by the black and head to the neon section. lol Imagine the little retro venus neon orange.

Mean Green Piggy Powered Machine Sounds like a plan :thumb: But first, I have to get R1 running (I think I'll call them R1 and R2 to avoid confusion. Even after two solid days work it's not right I found water (again) in my cylinder. I tried a different head of my old S6 racing and a new gasket set but it's still getting through. I think something is warped on the new cylinder, as it's the only thing relevant that's different from the old setup that worked fine (emphasis on the worked bit). The water was also leaking with the old crankcases, I blamed it on the cyl-crank case mating surface but now I'm fairly certain the problem lies with the cylinder. Not sure what to do here. If I spend any more time pissing about with it I'll either end up throwing the scoot off a cliff or possibly myself too

Can you apply a few pounds of pressure in the water system?Maybe remove the piston so you can look thru the ex and intake ports and find the leak spot with soapy water...Never let a machine win,you can outsmart it!! :thumb:

Hmmm, interresting idea. I know I could pressurize the cooling system, but that would only tell me I have a leak. I know that already I know I wouldn't be able to see bugger all down the transfers, and the exhaust port would probably show me the opposite side of the cylinder wall and not a lot else. I do happen to know someone with a fibre optic bore camera though Sod it, if Shiny isn't too busy he can have it for a week to fix and setup on the dyno. Did some tallying up for R2, looking like around £300 to get it to a mint and fully operational condition using new parts. I'll try to recycle if I can. I know a 2003 runner in stock form with 30,000 mi on the clock will sell for £800, so I certainly won't loose money on on a mint 70 with 21,000 kms to it's name.
