Murdered? Na. Those are Stage 6 pork chops if she asks. They go pretty well with the Malossi macaroni that's in the oven. ;D

They go pretty well with the Malossi macaroni that's in the oven. ;D  Tis OK, she didn't notice Here are the pics of the evenings progress. Off with the top end Plenty of two stroke round here Unusual but effective way of keeping it restrained. Haven't damaged anything yet using it. Cases split Sure that shouldn't be there One new bearing in And the crank just dropped in Crank comparison Thermostat had fallen out and was blocking the water channel, hence the melted gasket Well, it's easier than holding it... The other half with bearing fitted Perfect, just slid together. Came complete with end float, no bashing required That's more like it All back together now Look at that for some proper variator splines That's all I had time for, nearly done. I pressure tested it after and found some massive leaks by the transfers, not sure why. It's worrying, as I assembled the top end how I usually do. I've reassembled it with just a metal gasket (squish 0.6mm exactly) and sealant, I'll re-test it in the morning when it's set.

I'm back! Got back today after 12 hours travelling since 6am Managed to get the engine back together and in the scoot. I was planning to get it all ready for a test fire in the morning, but I started to feel pretty ill so I came in before I screwed something up. I also drilled some clutch venting holes, resprayed the CVT cover, rejetted to 145 from 142 and dropped the rollers from 3.5 to 3.25gr. Pics when it's back together in the morning ;D

Thanks Brent ;D It lives!! :riding: Fired up second kick and settled down to a smooth idle. Just going up and down the drive I can tell that it's more powerful, it actually has some grunt at 7k rather than running rough. Much crisper :thumb: Will get it all back together after some lunch and go for a proper test ride.

It fooled me into thinking it was behaving itself, as I was testing when it was cold and thus leaner. Once warmed up it's back to it's usual tricks. I can see two possibilities:
1) I needs downjetting as there is no longer an air leak 2) A cylinder with such an aggressive port timing just won't work with an exhaust with so little low end power (I'm still using the S6 racing with the iffy port timings, as I can't really afford another right now)
I suspect #2. One minor problem is that my C16's header's cracked, so I can't use that for testing. I'll get it welded up so I can find out what's what.

Right, I've decided that if I actually want this thing to go anywhere sometime soon I need to get a new cylinder. The obvious choice would be another S6 racing, another possibility is perhaps an Italkit Racing.
I don't really want to go all out with a high end race kit, as I really want usable low end power from this thing.
