The heat had caused the two halve's of the flywheel to separate, so it wobbled round and did this: It's got a nice crack too. As you might imagine, the carnage is repeated with the outside of the stator too. I'll have to go soldering iron shopping, as my loom no longer has the connector block after it corroded and my soldering iron's seen better days. I've been meaning to get another loom and pinch the connector block so I don't have to remove the stator to get the engine out, but money's tight. Got another stator and flywheel for a tenner, so it isn't the end of the world. The exhaust is at a blacksmith's now getting new stud's attached to prevent a repeat.

Dang!Sorry to see that!Looks like the flywheel needed replacement anyway,a cracked flywheel can turn into a grenade with the RPM's your scoot turns!!

I wouldn't have expected all of that just from the exhaust pointing at it. Sorry to see your streak of misfortune persists.

That was HOT Sorry about the luck Luke . Better days will come I sure hope so Thank's Brent. John, if you would be so kind as to re-iterate the instructions for correctly measuring an exhaust I'll measure the R1200 for you, and the Pro too if you like. I think the crack formed from the heat, not sure. It wasn't there last time I looked anyway. On a brighter note, my Polini Air-Speed drive face dropped through the letter box today. It's CNC milled steel, so lighter and more accurate than stock, but not liable to wearing out in a few hundred miles like the Stage6 alu one's.

Exhaust=fixed Stator wiring all stripped and ready, I've also purchased shrink wrap to do cover the individual wires's, and some 10mm to cover all 6 in a bundle.

Man! When it rains it pours! :zap:
You are quickly becoming intimate with all parts of the Piaggio Revolution l/c motor.
Better, more rewarding days will come. :riding:

Stator arrived ;D Wired and shrink wrapped Installed, and pickup air gap set to 0.5mm. Often neglected, but it is important to ensure correct running and prevent contact with the flwyheel. Done The polini air speed didn't go so well, the fan fouls the inside of the CVT cover. So that's why it was listed for the short case piggy and not long case

Right, so now I've hopefully sorted out it's niggle's it's bodywork time. So, this is what I was thinking, any other idea's shout. I was thinking of removing the sticker and wrapping the circled panel in 3M Carbon Fibre. Red and black seat cover, like this one: Koso's and bar conversion? Swap the inserts for matte back one's: Red/CF foot pegs? Not sure on this one. And these footplates have caught my eye: www.scooter-attack.com/shop/#!/en/Gilera/Runner-SP-50-as-from-08-2005/Styling-Parts/Foot-Plates/LEN02027-Foot-Plates-LENNES-Chapter-Two.html Brent, you're banned from replying on this thread - no, I don't want matte black!

I've unbanned myself. I'd just take the sticker off of the first panel and leave it black. I like the new seat, the old one's not bad either. Not that Kosos and a downhill bar conversion wouldn't be cool, but I like your gauges now and Kosos are expensive. What about maybe ditching the windshield and getting some new mirrors, like bar ends, to start. If you do much traffic filtering, I guess those bar ends may not be a great idea though? At any rate, you could start with a smaller change and see what you think for now. The Gilera inserts are pretty cool. Would go well with the broken up theme of the scoot I think to have some black up front. I like your current footpegs and the floorboards are nice but I dunno that they're worth the money. Basically, I'd make some small, cheap, changes to begin with unless you are just in the mood to spend money. Your scoot looks good as-is. Not that it couldn't be improved, but with your string of luck it may not be a bad idea to put a few bucks, or pounds, away just in case. :2cents:

It was pointed out to me that 5+8=13, so there's the cause of my bad luck Not that Kosos and a downhill bar conversion wouldn't be cool, but I like your gauges now and Kosos are expensive. What about maybe ditching the windshield and getting some new mirrors, like bar ends, to start. If you do much traffic filtering, I guess those bar ends may not be a great idea though? At any rate, you could start with a smaller change and see what you think for now. If I did ditch the windshield I'd have to fill the screw hole's and repaint it, and my paint skills are shocking! I don't think bar end's would be a good idea, I do a lot of riding on dual carriageways and I'd hate to change lane's into the path of car because I didn't see them. I do filter too, but mostly overtake cars in 60mph zone's to piss them off  The Gilera inserts are pretty cool. Would go well with the broken up theme of the scoot I think to have some black up front. I like your current footpegs and the floorboards are nice but I dunno that they're worth the money. I'll do the GILERA insert's first, they're cheap and I think it'l look good. One of the foot peg's is rather stratched, I was side swiped by a car at 30mph and amazingly that was they only damage done. I few inches the other way and it would have been my leg :paranoid: If I can get the correct color I'll just respray it and hope it doesn't end up looking worse. The floorboards are expensive, but so is everything else for this scoot, so I'm used to it! I've seen one in the flesh with them, and they do look pretty nice. One for the to do list wen I've got some spare money to throw around. Basically, I'd make some small, cheap, changes to begin with unless you are just in the mood to spend money. Your scoot looks good as-is. Not that it couldn't be improved, but with your string of luck it may not be a bad idea to put a few bucks, or pounds, away just in case. Don't mention my luck, I'll spend a load making it look nice than crash it :scared: I've managed to hunt down an original sticker set for 140e to make it look how it's supposed to, if it's got all the stickers I need I'll get that and settle for a few little mod's like the Gilera insert.

If I did ditch the windshield I'd have to fill the screw hole's and repaint it, and my paint skills are shocking! Just put the screws back in without the windshield and most won't think twice about it. I don't think bar end's would be a good idea, I do a lot of riding on dual carriageways and I'd hate to change lane's into the path of car because I didn't see them. I can see better with my bar ends than my stock mirrors.

I can see better with my bar ends than my stock mirrors. The bar's are fairly short on mine, I don't think I would be able to see past myself. Plus, I'd have to sacrifice the bar end weight's, which do wonder's for vibration (something which I have lot's of!). I would think twice about it, I'm pedantic like that :help:

OK, fine. Take the screws out and ride and give the windshield the freedom to choose if it wants to stay.
