OK, fine. Take the screws out and ride and give the windshield the freedom to choose if it wants to stay. I'm all for freedom of choice, but that take's the piss

I've had confirmation that the Simoncelli sticker set is all the stickers I expected, so I'm going for the stick with a few tasteful mods look.

I noticed bit of lateral play in the rear wheel today, so went digging. Found that the output shaft of the gearbox was worn, and playing in it's ''socket'' in the gear box cover. For now, I've swapped the lid and output shaft - but, my gear up kit is secondary so for now it's back to standard gearing, this should be interesting from a power wheelie point of view ;D
I'll get the gear up swapped onto the replacement shaft tomorrow, wish I had a press.
As for why it's worn, not sure, I don't know how many miles the trans had done as it was taken from a donor engine.

Play at the wheel is not cool, so glad you found that before it caused a problem. Should be fun to have a bunch of low speed power for a bit.

Actually, it's now a complete dog at anything less than WOT. As you know, it's setup to be lean apart from full throttle, well reducing the load meant is was even leaner and tipped it into detonation zone. It's particularly bad if you let off after holding WOT for a while, makes the whole scoot vibrate like crazy

Found one of it's problems, the spring loaded pin that clamps on to the end of the spark pug was bust so the plug cap kept vibrating loose. Well, that's not gunna help for sure

Oh, and without the gear up it is a little lethal round town if you are throttle happy like me, I got a bit ambitious going round corners, gave it the beans too early and combined with a manhole cover ended up with the scoot pointing the wrong direction. How I stayed on it I don't know :scared:

Actually, I thought it was quite fun at the time. I'm a little odd :help:
Spend the evening sanding the R1200 back to bare metal with some oiled wet and dry paper, shiny bare metal now. I also took the oppurtunity to take some measurements for John, hopefully the correct one's this time
I'm going to cover it in oil and then go for a run to get some serious heat into it, will get some nice purple and blue pattern from the heat which I will then preserve with some clear lacquer good up to 1000f. Should look real nice ;D

Thanks Luke I got the numbers! For pipe cleaning,I use "Naval Jelly"(phosphoric acid) and a scotchbrite pad, rinse in hot water and dry, warm up pipe, then apply 3 coats of 'Mop-N-Glo' floor polish(yep you read that right!).Works Great!!

I can manage phosphoric acid, but mop and go floor polish might be a little difficult in the UK. I'll do my best, thanks :thumb:
Do let me know what the numbers say when you run them, should be interesting. Got a stage6 pro I can measure too if you like.
Oh, and on the subject of measuring pipes, would you be able to make one with just the flywheel side crank case, a cylinder and two studs?

Picked up the gear up today, had a little mishap on the way home The silencer was ran over by a car, so is scrap.

Other than REAL loud, how did it run without the silencer?Ive seen a lot of production pipes with very small silencer cores..

The core in this one is about the same as the stinger diameter. I didn't run it for very long as I was in a residential area, I got my Dad to rescue me in the van. The pipe's going, from dyno graph's I've found it's more than 2hp down when tested on a midrace engine vs a C16, can't be having that ;D Well, I conclude from my extensive testing that the Pro muffler design is crap, it's only held in place by friction between the bracket and muffler and has a tendency to rotate round and aim the exhaust at things you really don't want it aimed at (stator mainly). Was the first (and last) time it's falling off though. I never had any problems with the City16, apart from stoving it in when I crashed which killed it. Going back to the tried, tested and trusted Yasuni

The Yasuni pipes are hard to beat! They are the most copied pipes in production, that should tell you something!!
