Yeah, I think it'll have good torque. I didnt adjust squish. Just put the base gasket on and tighted everything up. Running 91 octane gas and 40-1 Semi synthetic Seadoo oil since I had a case of it already on hand. Thinking of ordering a Stage 6 Street exhaust since I don't want crazy rpm. I went with a stock crank and I've still got the stock 2008 carb on there with a rubber cap over the oil nipple. I did up jet it to a 90, and back to a 85 tonight typing to get it to run. I'd mess with it more but my wife went to sleep and she gets a little bitchy when I'm revving up two strokers in the driveway at night. I stole my kids Zuma and went for a ride. Did 200 or so miles on the victory today too with my dad. He rides a Harley but I don't hold it against him. By the way, a 92ci Victory will flat smoke a 1200 Sportster.
Quick question, could not running a battery be causing problems? I'll put on in tomorrow to eliminate the possibility. I have a spare cdi and voltage reg too. I start working my way down the list of possibilies. Just doesn't want to rev up. Idles fine, midrange seems ok,but bogs WOT.

The lack of a battery should only be an issue on scoots using a DC ignition system. I never had any trouble without a battery on my AC fired scoots. Your issue sounds more like jetting or fuel delivery to me. Spend some more time with different main jets and check your float height while you're in there.

Float is not adjustable. It's all plastic, no tabs to bend. Changed the spark plug to an 8 and I've done a air leak test using carb cleaner. No leaks that I can find. Started with a 90 MJ, and bogs like hell, dropped in an 85 MJ, only slightly better, so I tried and 82 MJ and its rideable but bogs from a dead stop, now I have the stock 80 MJ in place and it's pretty good. Still not a lot of pull from a dead stop but once she gets rolling it goes like stink. I've installed yellow clutch and contra springs as well as 4.0g rollers and a new Athena belt I already had laying around. Still seems like a stock MJ would be lean but I hear these 2008+ stock carbs can be a pain. I'd like a little better carb but I'm out of cash for a while. I still need to order a pipe before my wife finds out I have money in my paypal account. I need to put the panel back on it yet but here are some pics for now. I have messed with the air fuel screw either since they are capped off on the 2008+ and I haven't drilled it yet. Anyone one have any advise? I'm a big dude, I need that low end back or I'll be looking like Fred Flintstone at the uphill stop lights.

Found a coupon code for scoot-tuning, wish I'd had this earlier. 5% off that Stage 6 Street Exhaust I've been eyeing. Unless anyone can suggest a better sport pipe I think I'm going to grab it. The low end torque is what I'm attracted to.

You didn't do a pressure test?

No, I replaced every seal. I need to build a tester I guess. Seems to be running pretty good now.

You paid too much money for those parts to not do a pressure test. Don't run that motor until you do.

I've got a mighty vac, I'll build a tester tonight. It'll be a vacuum test instead of a pressure test. Should be fine though.

Hmm, I've never done that so I don't know. The problem would be the crank seals pulling in on vacuum and making a tighter seal. That's the only problem I see. I'll ask one of my buddies later tonight to say what he has to say.

I'll figure something out. I want to eliminate that possibility.

Working with scootertuning.ca on the crank issue. After grinding the oil pump gear pin down by half on one end and sanding the snap ring to make it a little thinner I was just barely able to get it into the slot at the head of the ring where the holes are at. It's still putting pressure on the gear unevenly and making it run out of true. Either this hole for the pin is in the wrong place by a little or the groove was cut in the wrong place. Either way there is no possible solution to run a stock oil pump on this crank without some machine work. I would hate to say that's what I get by buying a motoforce crank, but I wasn't planing on exceeding 9-10k rpm on this engine so I thought I'd be ok. If anything I hope the seller gets some feedback into the manufacturer. Maybe I just got a bad part? Anyone have an opinion on motoforce products?

Only Motoforce product I ever bought was an oversize intake manifold for a 19mm Del carb. It seemed to be a good product and I never had a problem with it.

I'm not a buy the cheapest thing you can find kinda guy normally. Options for a "stock" style crank are kind of limited. I did steer clear of the economy version of the motoforce. Don't think scootertuning even sells it but I did see it on another site.

I have melted those all plastic non-adjustable floats with a lighter to get just the right level. Any decent non-expansion chamber exhaust should have good torque. Stock exhausts have great torque. I had a bugeye with that same Athena top end. It had real good torque with stock exhaust and lost a lot of torque when I put a Technigas Next R on it. Had to re-tune the CVT with a few tricks to get a good launch again but when the pipe hit she really flew! Stock gears and all. I like to shave the vari faces and use as many spacers as I can on the drive boss to get the best launch.
