So this is my fourth Zuma this summer. Picked it up for $150, the kid thought it was a 2001 but it's a 2008+ not sure what year yet, the sticker is missing. Someone has removed the oiling system and they run it with out 2T oil and burned up the cylinder. 30psi on the compression test. I think the bottom end is good. I'm going to put an Athena top end, a different carb, and a sport pipe on it. Probably some springs and rollers too. This one needs some love. Might have to wait a while to complete it. All my money is going into vacations this winter.
Zumas I own now:
2003 Yellow parts bike, not much left of it. Paid $100 2004 Blue beater with 20,000 miles, I ride this one. Paid $100 and it came mostly in boxes 2005 Grey with 500 miles on it, really nice bike, my son rides it. Paid $400 2008+ Black 6,000 miles. Paid $150
I think I might have a little bit of an addiction now. I'm still trolling craigslist looking for more. I can't really walk in the garage. I haven't ridden my Victory in weeks.

Man they don't show up that cheep around me. I love my Zuma but would love a second one for a wild build and leave the one i have like it is. The Eton Beemer and pair of triton clones are nice bikes but the Yamaha is just put togather better

If it's all there it's a steal at $250. Mine is going to need a lot of work. But it's nothing I can't handle. I'll have my cylinder kit soon, and ordered a new ignition switch today. Just need to figure out what I'm going to keep and what I'm going to sell. I need a fender and the rear panel under the luggage rack. I modified the stock carb so it opens fully. I'm going to jet it and run the stock carb for now. Still looking at pipes. Need monies.

They are here also. Just have to catch one in not running condition and be willing to put some sweat equity in it. The $400 Zuma with 500 miles is really nice cosmetically but had sit in storage for literally 8-10 years. The gas tank was filled with a old fuel, and muck mixture. Took me three hours of swearing my but off in the garage and $5 at the car wash power spraying the tank out. Also has to clean and oil everything. And replace the battery and clean the fuel valve and carb.

Yeah exactly, mine needs love too. Airbox was shot so I ordered that, ignition and seat latch cable, that should all be here friday. It's a eye sore for sure but it's gonna be a beauty in the end. I saw blue on the backside of the handlebar cover so I'm going with this bike was blue orginally.

So, here is what a stock piston looks like if you run it on straight gas with no 2T oil for four days straight. Looks like the cases will have to be cleaned out at least if the bearings survived. I don't want to do a full rebuild but it's looking like that's what it'll need.

Aw, that should buff right out, ha ha. I can't believe it did not do a total meltdown. I mean, the molten metal kind. Shows how tough these small engines are really.

Got my alloy Athena BBK kit today (Thank you Spaz). Will try to tear down the rest of the engine in the next couple days and determine the shape of the bottom end. Need to run to the local Yamaha dealer tomorrow for an OE small end bearing. Ordered a flywheel puller and a Gianelli exhaust system. I'll need a main jet and we should be ready to fly. If any body has a 84 main jet for a stock carb hit me up, also looking for a stock oil pump, I just fricken sold one too. All the parts I need, I've sold. What kind of luck is that.
