I have melted those all plastic non-adjustable floats with a lighter to get just the right level. Any decent non-expansion chamber exhaust should have good torque. Stock exhausts have great torque. I had a bugeye with that same Athena top end. It had real good torque with stock exhaust and lost a lot of torque when I put a Technigas Next R on it. Had to re-tune the CVT with a few tricks to get a good launch again but when the pipe hit she really flew! Stock gears and all. I like to shave the vari faces and use as many spacers as I can on the drive boss to get the best launch. I've got a stage 6 street exhaust coming. Putting the expansion pipe back on my 2004 I think. Also ordered some supplies to build a leak tester for the engines I've built / will build. I don't want to toast this top end kit. I'll figure it out. Just taking me longer than I would like. I realized the pipe would be a compromise on the bottom end, but once it hits about 10-15mph, it pulls like a train right up to 50+ mph. I just want to ride. I'm seriously impatient.

Tonight I broke down and ordered a 17.5 carb and cable, plus a choke setup and a derestricted intake. A new set of tires and one more back orders body panel and the 2008 will be finished for a while anyway.

All the needed parts are in aside from the rear body panel under the luggage rack. It still on backorder. I swapped the front tire out last night. Scratched the crap out of the wheel. I'm going to paint them anyway so no biggie. I need some rim protectors and tire bars but haven't had to make a run to harbor freight. I'll try to change the rear tire tonight and get the carb installed. The 17.5 came with an 80 MJ. Anyone have a recommendation as a starting place for tuning? I have a handful of MJ's. Hope to be riding it tomorrow. Still waiting for parts for the Benelli but hope to squeeze it in this weekend between a dealer trip to the Casino and winterizing my boat for the season. I hate this time of year, it means winter is around the corner. It's time to move south.

Maybe since I'm bored I'll go back and read

Gianelli Extra V2 pipe. The panel is already on order from scootertuning.ca. Just waiting for them to get some in. I can't get the bead broken on the rear tire, so I'll have to take it to the tire shop tomorrow. I got the carb setup and cables ran tonight. Need the tire before I put the exhaust back on. No hurry I guess, I've waited this long I want it to be right when I goes back together. It ran good on the 80mj with the stock carb. No air leaks. Seems weird but it is what it is.

I think 92 should be a good start that you can work down from then. Did you try using a 2x4 to break the bead? I sit it where just the end is at the bead and the other end on the floor and step on it. Works for me

I use a large c clamp to break motorcycle and scooter tires, although I cannot find my motorcycle tire bars. This one is not coming off, I've tried several times. I'll take it to a shop tomorrow, not big deal. 92 sounds way high, considering it was running good on an 80. I think I've got a 90, I'll try that and see tomorrow maybe.

Couple pictures of the current state of things. Still waiting on a piston for the Benelli. Also finally figured out why my pics always post upside down. Settings in the ole iPad.

I could squeeze in a couple more. Almost snagged a 2011 Rocketa for $100 today but someone beat me to it. Had been sitting and wouldn't start a more kind of deal with like 100 miles on it. Probably needed a fuel system cleaning. I've got to fix and sell the Benelli quick though. Trying to run down a 250 Ninja for my son so I'll need room. I have a pretty decent size garage. Just need to tighten things up a bit more. Coolers need to go in the attic, parts are scattered about since I have two bikes apart right now. I got a little done tonight, maybe a little more tomorrow.

I miss having a garage. Got another year and a half on this lease before I can get one.

Got some work done today. Both new Michelin Boppers are mounted and on the bike. New cable and choke ran for the Dell 17.5. Installed the carb with a 90mj and put all the plastic back on besides the seat bucket and sides. Installed exhaust, routed choke cable and drilled a hole in the battery panel for the choke lever. Got the short cable and mounted it low near the rear of the floor board. Charging the battery now. Testing tomorrow after work. Might have to play with the jetting some so I'm leaving it bare bones until it's dialed in. I'll takes some pictures when it reassembled.

It's alive! Charged the battery and reassembled. Think I need an 88mj as its got an occasional bog on the 90mj. Stock airbox snorkel in. Forgot to take pics. Need to finish assembly anyway. Runs hard to 45 than slows a little. Haven't rung it out yet but should do 50+ easily. Needs stiffer clutch springs as its doggy off the line until about 10mph than its braaaaaaapppppppp all the way to 45. Fun fun. Rode my kids ninja around the hood a little too. Needs a carb cleaning and probably synced. I'll do it this winter. I have a friend who is going to show me how to sync multi carb setups. I haven't done it in many years and don't have gauges.

Ordering more jets. Still no convinced I'm in the right place. Also needs a carb to airbox elbow. It's cracked and affecting the tune. Rode the old blue beater some too. It seems slow now.
