Well, I'm going to go ahead and create this, double my build threads while waiting for parts for the Agility.
Back story....
I bought the tgb r50x February 2015, supposed to be a great running scooter on Craigslist, but a mile away found it to be opposite.
It sat under my carport with spark issues until a few weeks ago when I bought the battle scooter for it's engine with a 47mm top end and tecnigas pipe. I believe it's an 03 tgb 303.
I initially just did a top end swap, added the tecnigas pipe and dellorto clone carb after I found out that all the time I spent testing the stator of the r50x was, after all the after market cdi causing the spark problems.
Rode it several times with issues of slow as hell and then seizing, then fine after much jet swapping and such. Ended back with the jet I started with.
Some of the damage...
Then I found a leaking crank seal and possible out of true crank shaft.
So the engine swap will go on. I've taken the naraku 47mm cylinder and smoothed out the ports better and opened up the exhaust port better, without changing the port side itself. The ports looked like they were shaped by a kid with a dremell lol
After I get the engine back together and check the port duration I will most likely try to change it some. I don't really care too much if it doesn't go well, if like a better quality kit for it in the end anyways.
So today after it got a touch warmer, I pulled the engine out of the battle scooter. It's going to be a summer ride after getting another engine built for it. The frame with ammo boxes and bmx handlebars has really grown on me.
Decided to check out the reeds and possibly open up the intake. Look what I found!
Polini reed block, kinda a spacer built in, with the polini reeds.
Then I see this
To me it seems like a poor attempt of trenching, but it is clearer at least. I'm sure I can work on that some.
The poor intake was barely finger tight and to where it connects to the reed block is quite small. With as loose as it was I'm surprised it ran. Gonna have to open that up...
And then there's this, oil pump held down with one bolt, not even through the holes. Not sure what's going on there, but it's going to be unused anyhow. I'm planning to make a plate for it.
For now I'm going to run to get some engine degreaser, maybe some high temp paint, and maybe food. Then I'll get back to the fun!
