Careful with that Kratom. It can bite ya in the butt... I've been doing it a little less than a year. I did a good bit of research on it, talked to many people to hear both points of view on it, then decided I was okay with it. I didn't try it until I was alcohol free for some time, wanted a nice place to drink something and relax, and found the Kava Bar. I used to do anything you'd put in front of me, as long as it wasn't a needle. I was fortunate enough to have missed the grips of everything but alcohol. So after reading about it I was gun shy trying it. I treat it with respect. I might have a cup of white maeng da between breakfast and lunch to get focused and motivated, then I'll go about my day, and wind down with some green or red maeng da to ease the back pain from the day and relax. I've turned on a few people that have drug or alcohol problems and have seen some take advantage of it's properties and slow their habits, one even went sober with it. But everyone's different, ya mean?

Well, had my first long and great run on the tgb. At least one where I didn't barely get home and have to inspect the damage. Since most of my 20, probably more, miles was wot, I decided to toss in a new plug and see what it told me. What it told me was that doing an actual chop, like cutting it open, is f****** tough! Good job, ngk, you guys got one tough plug. I figured my trusty hack saw would make easy work of it. Not so much. But, after much cursing and now sore hands from gripping things, here's the carnage... I'm still not fully sure what I think of it. There's the nice beginning of a Carmel, maybe darker, ring. It's not 2mm though, which is a standard for atv chops, one place I read. And the ground was a bit light, not ashy white like I've had before, a light brown. The flash makes it look lighter than it is, I believe. Well, regardless, I'm going to order a set of jets when i order my variator and whatever else.

Ha ha!!!! I forgot that it came with a 12v lighter style plug in the seat! I removed it long ago when trying to figure out my no spark issues. Plugged it back up, new fuse... Didn't work... Plugged the power wire all the way to it and viola! I'm charging my phone on the go! Unless it shorts out some how, then I'm buying a new phone. If I can get it to run high enough speeds I'll plug in my radar detector! Then I'll know when I'm gonna get pulled over...

In my attempt to stay up until morning to prepare for the next 3 nights of work, I'm outside messing with my scooter like a tweaker. What I've done, restored my headlight! Well, halfway. I want to share this bit, maybe it can make it into the tips section. I couldn't find anything, but that doesn't mean it's not there. What I used, 220 grit sandpaper, 400 grit sandpaper, 2000 grit sandpaper, water, and No Flash electro contact cleaner. I started, wet paper the whole time with water, with the 220 grit. Circular motions, rewetting it often. Moved on to the 400. Same thing. Then on to the 2000. Wipe it all clean, it will appear hazy. Then I spray the contact cleaner onto a paper towel, I used a napkin, and wipe the lense. Then I buff it with a nice soft towel. Here's my half lense results... Still a bit you can see, but a million times better. I've tried before too clean this lense with no success. I think the contact cleaner did the trick. Another type of spray may work. What may be an edit, after the 400 the first time, I used the spray, great results. Then I used the 2000 and then the spray. Great for the bottom half, but not as great on the top. Went back over it with the 400, then the spray, and this is what the picture is of. Here's the spray... Before After 220 with a wipe After 400 and a wipe After 2000, and going back over spots I missed with 220 then 400 again, then 2000 and a wipe Then a QUICK wipe with a napkin with No Flash on it. CAUTION! THE ELECTRO CLEANER IS NO JOKE! WILL REMOVE PAINT! DO NOT APPLY DIRECTLY TO LENS! DO NOT LET IT SIT ON THE LENS! LETTING IT SIT WILL PRACTICALLY EAT THE PLASTIC! NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE OR HARM! TRY AT YOUR OWN RISK! NOT RECOMMENDED UNLESS YOUR LENSES ARE SHOT! I went over the no Flash wipe again with sandpaper and repeated the process, trying different things. That's how I discovered to not apply it directly, and not to let it sit. In the end I still had a few streaks, like the no Flash left it. Going over the streaks just made them worse. Buffing it with the towel after the wipes worked best for me. And I had a bottle of this useless crap... It actually worked after the whole process to help clear any little stray marks.

If there's something like this already on the site, someone get me a link, I would like to see their methods, maybe this could be added as an alternate method.

I got this kit from Harbor Freight for something like 10 or 12 dollars. Started out with the spongy one on the top left with gritty, white toothpaste and a little bit of the Zymol. Worked that around for a while and then changed to the stiffer pad on the top right. Used the Carnuba wax with that and the headlights on my car look brand new. Used the same things for the panels on my Prebug scooter and it worked great there, though I would suggest a corded drill in both cases.

Yeah, drill would've been a major help. I didn't plan to do that, just happened to be looking at the lense and saw how bad it was. So I grabbed up what I had around. If I planned it then that would've been great!

I'll have to try the link on a computer, acts wonky on mobile. I had to use something more than 400, these things were extremely messed up. That's one reason I'm extremely pleased with the results. I really thought it was beyond repair and that I would be buying a new lense before it would ever be clear again.

So, I've got the neighborhood thinking I'm a tweaker again. I decided to stay up all night to get back into routine for this weekend of the night shifts. I didn't have much that I could think of tinkering with that didn't involve an impact or starting the scooters, so I did some cosmetic and lighting! I started with putting led turn signals in the rear brake light housing and do away with the ones on the posts. As I was disassembling the body to get to the lights I noticed that I had forgotten to completely remove all the emissions junk from it that I had disabled. It had such an odd sound to it when it was connected. Found out why... The hose that normally just goes to atmosphere led into a tube into the framing of the scooter. I also removed the oil container since it was also dead weight. Got to the taillight assembly and unlike Kymco, Tgb actually has sockets for the lights to plug right into with dummy bulb type orange covers. Lucky for me, the white led bulbs fit right into the orange covers. I swapped out the brake bulb with an led also, but it didn't light up as bright as the regular, which I liked. The led looked alright, but not safe to me. Here's the signals using my hazards Next I moved to the front of the bike to put bulbs in the front fairing signals. Since I don't have the led flasher I just put in regular bulbs. Another stroke of luck, the orange dummy covers in the front were bigger than the rear ones and the white bulbs I had from the posts fit right in. This picture isn't as bright looking as they are, I couldn't time the picture right with the flashers Then I decided that since the only thing on my digital dash that actually somewhat worked was the tachometer that I would take all the plastic covers and such off to be bare bars. I added the crappy tachometer that only goes to 9999 that I hastily bought on eBay without reading the description well and my old GPS for a speedometer. I really don't need to get this crank over 10k very much, so I figure it'll do for now. And it'll get some use out of it so it's not a complete waste of money. @elektry, I'm really not trying to copy you all the way, it just looks so much better naked bars. I won't paint mine black, I swear. Maybe... Now I'm going to eat my chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and gravy and biscuits at 545am. It's a good thing I don't live with my girlfriend. She'd probably kill me...

Since my Germany trip was cancelled I can go back to focusing on my scooters. I'm going to get the polini corsa for it, but I would like to get a new crank. I'm not sure if a replacement crank would be any better so I'd like to put in something better. I know Jwhood put in an italijet crank that was a bit longer and needed a different fly wheel, I think. What I'd really like to do is get a crank that has more options for variators. Is there any way another crack would work if bearing and shaft sizes were same? Is it even possible, or just a big dream?

No telling,,gotta look at the Morini copies and go from there,,here is a page of crank pics, perhaps it will help; www.mitaka.co.uk/CATALOGUE/SCOOTER_CRANKS.htmGotta have the big worm gear area on the left side of the crank for the oil pump,Kymco,Honda and Piaggio has this in some models, but whether they'll fit would require careful measuring..

I'm planning on removing and plugging the pump hole, it's disconnected at the moment anyhow. I need to split the case so I can get some measurements going on. I'm probably on a wild goose chase, just need to give it up on trying to do too much special with this. On another note, I took my spare boss drive in to work last night. Since nothing I had would even begin to cut it I had a tooling machinist get at it with his fancy tools. Took it down 1mm to see if that helps belt travel. If I had access to the things he does I'd be fired for making a bunch of scooter parts...

Ive got a TGB50 torn down in the shed if you need dimensions before you tear yours down..I was hoping to use the thick wall cases for a big motor build, but dead ended(as usual with these old design scoot motors) because of the crank design and cylinder flange..Still searching...

I really don't know what dimensions I would really need to compare, still wet behind the ears on crank subject. Maybe the bearing size, shaft diameter, I dunno what else at this point. I just need to watch some videos on splitting the cases, get necessary tools, and get mine out to assess the situation. I don't want to have you out measuring things for no reason...
