In my build thread are some mesurements on dimensions of crank walls,im hoping in the next 3-4 week to have my l.c build up in running only thing stopping me is stator I'm excited to hear about it. I'm trying not to rush, but I really want to get this screaming! It's really hard for me to not want to buy that malossi hpc. Best price ever. And I don't want to get a different one for more and have the same exact issues you did. Annnnd I don't want to get one that is sure to work and sacrifice case compression and high rpm reliability. I know myself, and how I ride. I'm not going to be easy on it. I'd hate to do all the case work and find myself with lower than ideal case compression, or even worse, destroy a crank and the polini kit. What happened with your stator? Your build thread just stopped, no info on what happened... I think you have told me before but I don't remember and can't seem to find it.

I figure that here I can have conversation and veer off topic as much as I want. It's mine lol. I enjoy the conversation and like to hear what's going on with your build as well. It may help me, and maybe others in the future. Us "off the beaten path" scooter builders need to stick together!

Id be 1/2 tempted to try to throw a stroker from another make in mine if i wouldve known before hand that there was alot of metal between the case holes enough that you can machine it down some and not lose integrity and strength!!!

After reading your thread again I started to look, but didn't have much luck. Didn't try hard, though. if one were to do that, ideally you would make a spacer for the cylinder base, correct?

That added stroke could really spice this baby up!

I think I'm gonna make the paint scheme with the Ice King in mind. I'm a huge Adventure Time fan, and to print this and stick it to the body then clear coat it would be great. Maybe with Gunther and other penguins elsewhere on it too.

The 1mm I had trimmed off of my extra boss drive by my coworker seemed to help just a bit. Put that on with a 1mm washer behind the variator back plate to keep the front face from being too far into the splines to torque down tightly. Oddly enough, my previous marker on the variator was rubbed about 1mm closer to the edge. I know I'll never get the proper performance I lust for from the stock variator, but for now any bit helps. It could probably take another mm off, but I don't want to ruin it or destroy my takeoff.

To fill the snow day boredom I decided to cut up the cvt cover. Here's before Now after. Still going to repaint it. And the bell will be painted with high temp black around the edge and blue in the center.

Need to cut hole in front to let air flow thru better

Good idea. I was thinking right in the spot that the end of the crankshaft/kick-start gear is, but there's nothing cool to show there. Maybe a half moon to the left of the variator face. Or along the edge so air would go straight in. I was trying to avoid the possibility of dirt and debris getting a straight path in, but I'm sure it's not as serious of an issue as I'm making it.

I decided to take advantage of parts for scooters twenty percent off sale. Got the crank seals and bearings, gasket set mainly for the gearbox gasket that will not be reusable once I put the proper gears back into the r50x transmission, and the hoca variator. I am still trying to get the spline count and other dimensions of the polini variator from sip, iirc. I could still use the hoca for the battle scoot. I thought about getting their morini crankshaft too, but I'm not done on my search for more of a performance crankshaft that's not the Italjet hpc. I'm probably going to lose that battle. There's naraku one that's not a full circle crank, and could possibly be better than regular stock replacement, or maybe the peirspeed one from Scrappy dogs. I'll figure it out. The weather needs to hurry up and get better. I'm getting anxious to get my paint and decals going on. Still need to pull the trigger on the temp gauge and the tach and speedo. I wish I could find the original cluster in working condition.
