Since all the lights now run off of DC from the battery instead of the headlight running off AC from the stator, will my rectifier thingy blow up or something? It's only 25ish watts tops that the lights draw. (Headlight is 20w and rear cluster is maybe 3-4 tops.)

The wiring on this thing seriously confuses me. Today I was trying to wire up my brake light to actually light up when I hold the brake lever. Somehow I wired up my fucking starter button to make the brakes light up. I gave up after that.

Ugh. I can't figure it out at all. Everything works, the brakes light up when I hold the brake lever but they also light up when I hit the starter button.
WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH IT.

With the way it was wired up it was sending positive down both wires for the relay and I couldn't figure out how to fix it without losing any of the lights so I just stuck one of the wires to the relay under a bolt in the frame. Also did an oil change. Old (I think) 10w30 motorcycle oil was pretty black. Put in some (I think) 5w40 generic crap. Also blew another fuse, probably shorted the exposed positive wire on the body. I thought it was my last fuse but I found another one so I need to get a spare one of those sometime.

Dude! You need to get a wiring schematic,Brent likely has one in the manuals or tech section,,then read it like a road map, look at the brake switches(the starter only works with one pulled in),then find the starter relay(solenoid) and follow the wire colors and see which one you have swapped, gotta be simple! An electronics buddy said "electrical takes hours of troubleshooting and moments to fix,,mechanical takes moments of troubleshooting and hours to fix"!!

Should be somewhat similar. At least perhaps of some use.

I do, I have the one that came with the scooter. The solenoid relay whatever has one wire that's on the same wire as the brake light and with the way my new cluster works I have to choose between having any electrics or connecting the other relay wire to negative. It's a mess, but it seems to work right now.

Rode around town a bit and when I got home I did a small stoppie in the garage. Engine cut out and electrics are gone. I just walked inside.
EDIT: Looks like the fuse blew again. Might be one of the wires that wasn't really in place in the connector coming out. Doesn't explain the engine stopping though.

Perhaps it just died because of the stoppie. You're at idle or near it and changing the angle of the carb.

Today I put my phone mount on and tested it out with my nice phone since the $11 phone I have wasn't charged. It seems to work fine. But I noticed that one of the things for mounting the chrome muffler cover thingy that I took off months ago was bent downwards. It broke clean off when I tried to tap it back into place and now I've got a nice hole in my muffler. I haven't noticed any sound change since the back of the muffler is already opened up, but I still hate having that hole there. Is there any cheap/easy way to fix it? Otherwise I'll just ignore it.

If you know anyone with a welder, that would be a pretty quick fix. There are muffler tape and paste products, but I've never tried them.
