Well, I put the carb on anyway after cleaning up the vacuum lines a bit. Fired up after a bit of cranking without adjusting anything. I'm sure it's running rich though. (Boggy.) If it bogs then it's lean.

So looks like the seller of the levers that never arrived (Estimated arrival weeks ago and non working tracking number) will be sending a new set. Got my chrome mirrors but it seems that the chrome back on the mirror part is actually plastic. I expected better quality for $14 mirrors from China.. Sheesh..
Anyway, the big valve head is actually shipping from the US instead of from China like the 52mm kit and racing intake manifold, so I'll have plenty of time to port and polish that..

Big valve head arrived today. It's big. And valvey.
For some reason I expected it to be 50mm, I guess I got some listings mixed up since it doesn't mention 50mm anywhere. It's actually a 47mm but I'm fine with that since all the cheap 50mm heads seem to be the same thing, just with a few extra mms of boring or whatever you call it (dishing?) so the valves are the same size.
EDIT: Also the seller of the levers that never arrived said something along the lines of they'd rather give a refund instead of sending another set in case that one got lost too..
EDIT DOS: Ordered what seem to be the same levers, just a bit more expensive and shipped from the USA.

It was pretty warm today so I took it out for a ride into the center of town and back. Was held WOT for basically all of the ~3 miles I did. I filled the tank with $2.50 worth of premium. When I got back I could tell simply by smell that the engine needed a fatter main jet. When draining the carburetor I spilled a bit of gas onto the top of the engine and it boiled off.. Popped in a 100 main jet (Smallest in the kit I have) and what I think is a 38 pilot. My pilots don't have the size marking on them so I dunno. I pulled it from the old carburetor since it worked fine in that, but even with the bigger carburetor and free flowing filter it still won't idle for more than a few seconds with the AFR screw all the way in.. After the jets I took it for another ride. Pulled harder and sounded much happier but I still topped out at 48. I need to try lighter sliders/rollers since the 9g rollers are plainly too heavy for hills and wheelies and such.. I have a set of 5g sliders I never tried, worth popping those in?

9g rollers to 5g sliders is a big jump. Maybe try mixing them or stuffing some aluminum foil in the sliders to make them a little heavier.

It'll work. I've got sliders and rollers mixed in my OR variator right now because I didn't have the weight needed in either alone.

Well, shit. I took off the variator and popped in the 5g sliders just to see what it'd be like. Since you guys got me all paranoid about breaking the threads with an impact when putting it on I gave it the tiniest blip I could and called it good. Yeah, no. Rode down the road a bit, turned around, and pinned it. It revved really high and I thought the weights were just too light until it stopped accelerating and I heard the outer side of the variator hit the ground.. Still haven't found the nut. Gotta go to work, will look more tomorrow.

Went to Horror Freight parking lot sale thingy. Got a $10 half inch torque wrench, zipties, and some gloves. Wanted to get the $80 welder but wasn't allowed..
(Should I order one online anyway?)

I mean, would it be worth buying for me? I've never welded before and I imagine it'd be useful for some things but not much..
