I would like opinions on how to deal with the crank bearings. The one in the small half goes in and comes out by hand if you hold it just right. The one in the big half goes halfway in by hand, but that is it. High temp threadlocker, or shimming, or?

If you cant feel any slop between the small half and the bearing, loctite 271 will do,for slop shimming is the only fix..Big half should run fine..

I really didnt want to mess with shims yet, I saw all the fun 90GTVert had working with them. Will the loctite wick in if I apply it after placing the bearing, or should I put some on the bearing then slip it in? I know you gotta keep it out of the bearing.

Will the loctite wick in if I apply it after placing the bearing, or should I put some on the bearing then slip it in? I know you gotta keep it out of the bearing. I've only used 603 retaining compound for this, but I put it on the bearing and then install. You can use a few dots and smear it thin so it won't ooze out everywhere and risk getting into the bearings. Not really an answer to your question, but if keeping it out of the bearings was the concern, it's not that difficult.

One step closer now that this is here, but I still have not had time to touch the cylinder yet.
