Has anyone upgraded to it yet? I'm leery of Microsoft trying to give away something. They NEVER give anything away. It makes me suspicious.
Anyway, just wondering if anyone has upgraded and what they think so far.

I did..........and went right back to win7. what a POS. its not even like 8 at all, which I was familiar with. the "Apps" like facebook constantly crashed, and my graphics card driver wasn't optimized for it. wanted to crash my card, and its a good card, only a few months old. a Nvidia GT730 so its not a huge card, but no slouch either. something with the driver wasn't compatible even though I updated. so I switched back to windows 7

there a few things i don't like, like what it does when you insert a card, say from a camera, you gotta go hut for it,, but after a while you will like it , it does seem to just run smoother with Firefox, don't like the new browser they are using,, if you have win. 8 or 7 its a free download,, use a either net cable,, don't do the upgrade wirelessley,, that does cause problems..

If it was still getting any kind of support, i'd still be running XP. I'm on W7 now, runs good so why change?

I used to really like XP. I have a laptop with Vista OS on it and it is junk. I want to upgrade to a better OS but I'm not sure what I am going to go with yet.

I almost took the upgrade, but the more I read about it the less I wanted it. Still on 7. I like 7 anyway.

I don't really have a preference between 8.1 and 10. If I was back on 8.1 I'd stick with it because I don't think the 10 upgrade is worth the time. If you do upgrade to 10 like I did, be sure to turn off all the Microsoft spying stuff. (It's free for a reason.)

I have win 7 and love it, but every couple of days my computer just freezes out of the blue. No hint that it's coming either. Right before I posted this thread I was just browsing the forum and it did it. It's annoying. I'm beginning to think it's my computer though?
Anyway, I hear read that win 10 is a big snoop and to to top it off it's got all this ad crap that just shows up. So I think that I'll just pass and maybe get a new computer since this one is about 5 years old. I'll be putting win 7 on it if it comes with 10
Katastroff, I really liked xp as well and didn't want to change either. I'm not sorry I did though.
In the mean time, anyone know how to get rid of the stupid notification about the free upgrade?

I have upgraded to Win 10. I hesitated at first but after some research I decided to go for it and went from Win7 to Win10. Best thing I have done in a while. At least for my PC it was.
I love the interface and features. Just deactivate all the send notification to micro$oft crap and you are good to go. Didn't had any driver issues thus far. Never crashed either.
I hate Win8 though that is the most crappy OS after VISTA and Millennium. That OS was optimized for mobile first and is a PITA to handle.
