As some of you know, I picked up a United Motors X-Peed for 100$ the other night and it came with some performance parts already installed!
So so far on it that I've found, TG RSII pipe, Dellorto carb(haven't checked size yet) and a yellow contra spring.
First parts getting installed is a set of ignition and locks as the seller didn't have them.
My my plans right now are to check out the top end to see if it says 49 or 70cc on it and check compression, change fuel filter and fuel lines, all the good stuff to get it running. I am attempting to drill out the gas cap lock with no success, and remove the tank and clean it out real well. This fuel smells like nail polish!!
Does anyone have any ideas on how to get the gas cap off? I drill and drill and now it wobbles around but it won't come all the way off!!

Go with bigger and bigger drill bits until the lock mechanism itself comes all the way out. PITA but doable.

That's what I was doing, I gave up for the night as it was like midnight but I'll finish it through tomorrow! But anyways, I was thinking of getting a Stage6 StreetRace top end for this baby if it doesn't already have a 70 kit.

Big flathead screwdriver, hammer and a touch of brute force should do it...

Big flathead screwdriver, hammer and a touch of brute force should do it... It's already drilled through about 3/4 of the way through! I just started to make a lot of noise the deeper I got, I was getting real tired, and figured I'd pop my cvt cover off to see if there was any hidden performance parts in there, which sadly there wasn't ;( then I came in the house for the night, I'm off tomorrow so I'll tinker! I still need the get my broken kick start bolt out of my Zip tomorrow and then I'll have her to drive!

Remember you are drilling into a gas tank, electric drills make sparks in their motors,a few aviation mechanics have lost their lives doing similar duties...

Alright, I made a bit of progress this morning on the scoot! I turned the gas cap to see how loose it was, and it came right out, excellent! I pulled the carb to see how dirty it was and check the size of it, PHBG19 and this this is sparkling clean inside! I also busted the trunk lock open, I found a nasty hair brush, Oakley sunglasses, a helmet for a tiny head, and a few receipts dated in Late 2004 & Early 2005. Is this the last time this beauty was ran? Who knows! I still need to tear out the gas tank and flush her out real good of the metal shavings and also rust! I'll need to pick up some gas and shake some BB's around in there! Im done for now, but later I'll make an attempt at pulling the gas tank and possibly even pumping the tires up to see if they'll hold air.

Ok so I pulled the gas tank, I put about 100 BB's in it and a bit of new gas, shook shook shook!!!!! The tank looks much better , almost good enough to ride, but I want to do this job right the first time. So I think tomorrow I'll go pick up some muriatic acid and a fuel petcock from the local overpriced store .

Made good progress today, went to the scoot shop and I forgot to bring my petcock so the guy ended up letting me pay for one and bring the other back tomorrow, they come in Fine and Coarse theead and I wasn't sure which one I needed.
Then I stopped at Pinch-A-Penny, local pool store and got some muriatic acid, got the fuel tank sparkling again!! Installed the petcock and tank, got the carb and air filter hooked up and the side body fairings. All that's left for tomorrow is to grab gas and a couple spark plugs!
I figured since I'm working right next to my ex's I'll pick up my compression test kit to see compression if it doesn't want to start, but when I kick I feel good pressure!

Sounds like you're making good progress! Keep it up! I'm undecided right now!!! 1) Get a title for this and sell it 2) Keep both scooters 3) Sell my old scooter without title and keep this scooter
