Just as I got the scoot tuned throughout the range really well, I started hearing a strange sound. The sound got louder and louder so after 3 rides I decided I had better find the source.
It ended up being the small end rod bearing. I installed a new one and everything is quiet again.

I'd say that sounds a lot better.

I'd say that sounds a lot better. Turn your volume back up cause that's still the old one. Lol!

Yeah, when I replaced the stock cylinder with the Airsal kit from treats I just reused the original stock bearing. I know better than that, not the place you want to be cheaping out.

I switched out the 19mm dell clone carb for a 21mm dell clone. Spent quite a while between Friday night and today getting it tuned. Can't really say I can tell a difference yet. Takeoff and up to 39 mph may be slightly better, top speed is still around 43 - 45 mph. There may be more in there once the tune is really dialed in.

Since I ride this scoot so much, I decided to make some enhancements. I extended the foot pegs for even more legroom. And since the seat from a Honda elite fits on the Kymco seat bucket I decided to put the honda seat on the kymco for a test ride or two. in the picture they look nearly the same, but my rear end tells me they are quite different. The Elite seat is made for only one rider, and it sits lower and has a ridge along the back that the Kymco seat does not have. I think I like the Honda seat better for now. Yupper on the seat for fitting, but....... If you decide to put the plastics back on, you will have fitment issues. Been there done that. Nice to see you still tinkering with the Kymco.

I put one of those Honda elite seats on my aero before I sold it. I have an 89 elite sitting around waiting for the day I put it together, and it had a better seat than my aero so I swapped it on since I was riding it and it matched(white+white). Very comfortable saddle.

I agree with the Elite seat. It's one of the better seats I've been on. It's shorter so when us tall guys sit on the "back seat" to ride we don't look so bad.

When i sat on that seat I was like "aah" cuz i sat in the perfect spot and made the bike fit me way better. Must be designed for us tall Americans!

I rode a good bit last night. I am undecided about which seat I like better. The extended pegs made the already great stock Kymco seat ride even better. The Elite seat sits lower than the stock Kymco seat, and I feel like I need to extend the pegs even further to get some legroom back.
