A plastic spacer in the variator is another restriction on that scoot.

Anyone who is familiar with these, know what's interchangeable with the front brake? A friend of mine has one and his front brake seals are going. He has not been able to track down the brake parts. Rather worrisome as its a 60+ mph bike. Easyparts.nl and oemmotorparts.com are good places for Derbi parts. If you you/he can't find parts then I have a caliper. Thanks! I passed the info on.

The brass holey restrictor and spacer referred to are the only restrictors. Around 48 mph is typical for stock top speed for a middle weight rider.

It is amazing the hack job people are capable of. On a basically new scooter to boot.

Nice find Oldgeek. I resurrected one over the past winter. I ride with a couple guys here that have them too. One is unrestricted with a Leo ZX, does a solid 45-50 on the flats and has great takeoff. The other is bone stock with the restrictions and does a solid 40-45. They are nice machines, and well built. I had some issues finding some parts, 95% are sourced overseas.

My friend's has a Malossi 70cc topend, Malossi variator, some sort of performance clutch, and a pipe made for something else that they made fit. It keeps up with big scooters right up to 60 or so. Riding it is what sold me on twist n go scooters.

I pulled the body plastics off to get a look at the carb and CVT. The carb restrictor was gone already, as was the plastic variator spacer. They also threw out the air filter in favor of a small piece of sponge, I guess in an attempt to tune the carb. It still has the stock 60 main jet, and the float bowl drain screw was silicone to hell and back with pieces of silicone floating in the bowl. LoL! The CVT bolts were all rounded off and tight as hell, I was surprised I was able to get some of them off. The CVT components are like new, and as others here have said they are basically already over range components.
I need to buy another bowl and drain screw for the 17.5 PHVA carb, or possibly just put a 19 PHBG on in its place. If I put the PHBG on I will loose the electric choke, so I would have to figure something out for that.
I rode the scooter a good bit, and it is a little on the small side for me, but I hate to think about selling this thing, as it is nice!

Ebay Germany is a good place to find Derbi parts.

If my memory serves me right 835 is the correct belt length and 28 degrees is the angle. The 805 belt is for the Derbi motor.

Here are some pictures of the CVT. Quite a bit of the rear pulley is unused, I may need a longer belt? Just make sure you get the belt for the 2t version. I made the mistake and got the belt for the 4T version and that belt size is the only thing it will fix. (Derbi Atlantis 4t) PS, in the last pic, I see that blue ZX in the background. lol
