I seem to remember reading that after around May 2002 the change over happened in the U. S. An identical model branded Piaggio was sold under the model name Deisis in the European market. Be careful with the fragile cylinder studs. They are only 5mm in dia. 8 ft lb. max. I buggered one of mine and retapped all four for 6mm studs. I now have to drill out any new cylinder kits for the 6mm studs.

Also body plastic is somewhat aggravating. The brakes are pretty good. Hope you got the bigger PHVA 17.5 Dello. The PHVAs have vertically elongated slide valve openings for a more linear throttle action.

Anyone who is familiar with these, know what's interchangeable with the front brake? A friend of mine has one and his front brake seals are going. He has not been able to track down the brake parts. Rather worrisome as its a 60+ mph bike.

I knew from my research there was a motor changeover at some point so I started looking at pictures of them and I decided the motor on this one LOOKED like a piggy. I decided to roll the dice. The owner had some hack work on it. Drywall screws holding most of the body panels on, the grab bar and the access cover in the seat box is missing. The autocock is gone and a brass fitting was jammed into the plastic tank outlet. The carb is not adjusted right there is a flat spot around 3/4 throttle and the airbox has been messed with. I think all minor stuff though. Pretty clean for a 14 year old scooter.

I did some more comparison and going by the exhaust flange on the cylinder it is definitely a piggy. There is an amazing selection of cylinders available in for this motor!

Thanks for the reminder! I forgot about that one. Did you find any other restrictions besides that disc in the carb? It cleaned up real well today, I got the carb acting a little better.

I think the stock exhaust is a restriction itself. I stole the huge Piggy rear pulley out of it and replaced it with a pre-bug/mina rear pulley and different belt so I don't even really know how fast a stock Atlantis can go. That one went pretty darned good for stock with a smaller pulley in it!
