Built a coffee table frame today I need to make something like that for a workbench for my transmission, then i need to make a hoist to get it on the bench

Does anybody know if a piece of 1.2m - 48mm x 3.2mm steel tube would hold the weight of a 300kg engine without bending. This is my hoist design, all held together with plates and bolts so i can disassemble: I'm thinking i might need to weld some angle iron along some of the tubes for strength.

Just buy an engine hoist from Harbor Freight, Northern Tool, or others. HF and NT both have fold-up models. You can also use pins at some points to make it easy to take apart.

If i liked doing things the easy way i wouldn't have knowingly bought a car with a failed transmission. I'm going old school and making it myself. Minimum $300 for engine hoists in my country as opposed to $70 worth of steel (already bought the steel, no turning back now. This is more of a hobby project just so i can say i rebuilt an automatic. If i lived in the US, hiring or buying would be a viable option

The steel is more expensive here than a complete hoist. With a complete hoist the design has been tested also.

I worked on a POS chain saw a friend dropped off. I can never understand people that don't take care of their stuff(simple maintenance)

Fixed a garage door opener. The repair was easy enough. Got it done and it would only move about a foot. After 40 minutes of screwing with everything from wires to chain tension and position, it was a 1 second fix. I bumped a plastic piece at some point that's part of a sensor in there. Pushed it back on all the way and it worked fine.

Bought this cheap little car to use while i rebuild my auto. This thing is crazy cheap on gas for a car. I may just keep it as a cheap runner seeing as how my car is a gas guzzling v6. The engine and trans are so small you could probably just lift the whole thing out by hand, still gets to 160km/h. Just need a new water pump.

I helped a friend/neighbor change a starter on his S10 truck. Would of been nice if it wasn't leaking oil from everywhere.

Chevy's always mark their territory. I have over a million 127k on my '94 Chevy... Doesn't drip a leak, and pulls 2 ton+ on a regular basis... A little rust on the corners, a few dings, she runs like a beast, though she may be a beast, she is still lady enough to only leave her mark in rubber instead of fluids... Lol

It is a 5 door Opel Corsa B, just rebadged as a Holden Barina for the Aussie/NZ markets.
