Congratulations Shakerdriver! I am in a situation similar to your past one. I drive a concrete mixer for one of Wisconsin's largest redi-mix companies. I work seasonally, and really enjoy having 3 months a year off. The money is not the best during the winter, but I work a ton of hours the rest of the year. I also supplement my winter income by finishing drywall on the side. Not exactly steady money, but it sure helps. I am also a teamster. Not exactly a union man through and through, but I appreciate the security and stability in wages that the union provides.

Figured this was a good place to introduce myself. I'm currently the lone facilities and equipment mechanic for Alaska Airlines here in Ketchikan. Before that did the same thing for another company at the airport. before that a tour bus mechanic. before that was at a Chevy/Subaru stealership. Before that worked on heavy equipment(primarily skid steers, cranes and forklifts). before that as fleet maintenance. before that 2 years for an Associates in Auto Mech. before that at Schucks Auto Parts. Before that, apartment management.

It's not so bad. It's that one customer in 50 that can ruin your day if you let them. I do know what I mean though when I say "You have a wonderful day "
