im not sure of the whistleing sound your talking about but when i first bought my scooter it whistled sometimes (notgood).. i noticed during the day when it was 90 degree it ran great and no whistle, when it turned night and the temp droped 20degree or more it ran weak and whistled. found out it was running lean in the cooler temps and whistleing. like an old husqavara chainsaw leaned outand melting😁. just thought about this as i was reading your post. might wanna check your air fuel ratio at the coolest time of day just for safetys sake. happy tuning!!! Well, Then I would need to install an oxygen sensor and the Air/Fuel ratio gauge. These are not cheap. polini has one made just for scoots for $150 👍

Hey! So I brought another new-used scoot. This time it is 4-stroke, Baotian BT50QT-9 (year 2006). I love the sound. But there is a little problem - I need to change some plastic parts and when I give it a little gas, then comes a vibration to the frame. On the pictures, there is a old taillight and plastic gas tank cover. I replaced these parts, also I brought the TTO tach-Hour digital gauge. I was on the CN-PARTS shop, when I noticed, that horn is not working. I looked under the hood - THERE WAS NO HORN Brought a new horn - Now is that OK too. Tomorrow TO-DO list: 1. Look over plastic panels and see, what I can fix. 2. Change the CDI - if I knew Where the 4-Stroke Motorforce CDI is 3. The carb and airfilter must be checked. Some pics: I found if the cdi unit is not in the battery compartment it will be underneath it. I presume battery compartment is in the floor pan. Its only held in by screws if you need to get underneath for cdi unit. I then fed mine back into the battery compartment for easier removal later.

I noticed a length difference between old and new drive belt. The old drive belt was 669-18-30, but new Naraku drive belt is 671-18-30.

Today:
1. I measured my stock roller weights: - they are 7g. I noticed flat spots on some weights - these where 6g.
2. I swaped the stock Clutch bell to an TWH Clutch bell. Stock bell was 455g and the new TWH Bell 473g.
I need to measure the new variator weights too some day, to see the difference.

Today, I worked little bit, on my 4-Stroke scoot. I did put some air to my rear flat tire, blocked the vacum hose thingy on intake manifold, put fuel to the tank. Also I noticed, that when I push the scoot, it is some times hard. The reason for that is the rear tire is doing an figure of 8 on the wheel and rubbing against the rear shock. So I need to change the tires ASAP. The scoot started one time and died, did not start anymore. Then I charged the battery and tried again - NO LUCK. I have a brand new sparkplug, brand new High Output ignition coil, battery is now fully charged, the vacum leak is gone ( I hope). I still have the old carburetor, maybe swaping back to the old carb will fix the problem. I will check the valves too, while I change the Carb to the old one. If that do not fix my problem, then maybe it is low compression, but we will see.

Well, I think yesterday the scoot saw the weather forecast and did not want to work. Today I took old carb and some other parts with me to swap the new carb back to old one. I tought that the starting problem was carb issue, but I do not know now. Before I desided to swap the carb, I gave another try, with the new carb - WOW Scoot started. I swaped the fuel filter after that and tuned little bit. Then I took test ride, to try the new setup (new 20mm carb, new sport variator, new belt and new sport clutch + bell). Oh, man the difference is mind blowing, scoot is now more sharper and accelerastion is faster than before. Tomorrow I can try the high speed - old setup was 70 km/h. I think now only things I need to do are swaping old tires to Heidenau K47 Scooter Street Tires and also the throttle system too need new parts.

Yesterday I tuned the carb little bit and took a longer ride. The scoot was stronger then ever, but little lag with throttle, but that was just few seconds, then the scoot took the speed up and worked fine. I think the lag is an belt issue or throttle cabel issue. The new belt is Naraku Standard Belt 671x18x30 and Stock Drive Belt was 669x18x30. I went to the Starmoto Shop to ask the price of tire change (30€ for 2 wheels). When I was there I brought brand new throttle cabel (8€) for my scoot. Near furture I will swap it and then see the difference. Maybe the old cabel is warn out or streched. But That will be seen, when I swap the cabel for new one. I will wait with the tire change and when my 2 weeks free time from work comes, then I will do the tire change.
