That Koenigsegg valve system is very interesting. I will have to watch it a few more times and the other demonstration before I figure any of it out. www.youtube.com/watch?v=f4p-55a3WV8Variable valve timing and control has always been an interest of mine. Cams are so archaic... I have the parts to convert my old 400ci Ford to a roller cam. That is a big step up from flat tappet cams.

Those Rotax engines are ridiculous. Snowmobile engines are some of the most impressive CVTs out there. They routinely get swapped into Miatas and other small cars for autocross/ralleycross. My brother, mad scientist mechanic that he is, is in the process of swapping a Rotax into an old Porsche 944. I think its a 944.

43 horsepower? Wow! Hurry up and figure out how to transplant one into our scoots.

A power/exhaust/rave/(& other industry names) valve would be nice for a small 2 stroke engine. It does suck that you can only tune for low end or wide open with nothing in between. Power valves give you both in the same engine.

Wankels are still reciprocating engines, that rotor reciprocates as well as spins. It is a good thing that 294cc engine uses a chain drive, our tiny CVTs would explode.
I am still favoring a chain drive for my engine upgrade. I could use one of those timing belts though.

Just look at the coil compared to the rest of the motor.

If it's 300 cc's then it's not all that impressive as far as horsepower goes. It sure is small though. Looks small

That rotary(Wankel) is like all the others, cant be rebuilt under the shade tree by your average southern redneck as tolerances are very close and takes special tooling for repair,,doesnt make 2T power, and is priced so only the rich folk can have them.. Compare its HP/RPM figures to OLD 2T MX motors, doesnt make the grade(my '77 RM250(aircooled) made 47hp),the LC MX250 motors made waay more than that a few years later.. Franken, they have some very high HP snow machines running rubber belt CVT's,work quite well, big a** belt and vari parts also,,popular swaps in the drag race world also.. www.youtube.com/watch?v=nrldkXg7-Jowww.youtube.com/watch?v=nQiHWtoBYFM
