The stand on my GY6 does not want to stay on. When i got it, i think it was hanging by the wire, but now it's just off entirely. The rod that goes through it is a little bent, but can be finagled into place (in the stand itself) without too much effort.
I would like to attach this to the scooter, but i do not know how. What exactly does it connect to, and what do i need to make that connection happen? I'm guessing that for starters, i need a pin to hold the rod in place?

Okay, neighbor filled me in a little more. The stand is actually okay, but it has no spring holding it, and it was dragging. I would like to get this attached but i am not sure how to approach this. Would someone provide a little guidance? Please?

That has info about installing it. Thank you. I think I need a spring first though. Are those standard?

That first one from Pierspeed looks good, he is a good seller just ask him the question. Thanx, that is good to know. He's charging $6.15 shipping (putting the total between 8 and 9 dollars for that one, for example) which means i'd likely go a cheaper route, so i feel bad asking him if i am going to buy from someone else.
A little more searching on google and i found that the kickstand spring and stand spring are different, and then there are models. Also, the stand is called "center stand" or "main stand".
gy6 50 main stand spring
gy6 50 center stand spring
It looks like the cheapest is this one at $4.99 (free shipping) I wonder if i need a pin for it too.

BTW, i appreciate all the help from you here. The kickstand seems to work fine though. I don't think i need that second spring.

The center stand takes 2 springs, one inside the other like in peirspeeds picture.

The center stand takes 2 springs, one inside the other like in peirspeeds picture. Really? I completely missed that. I thought the inside spring was just the one for the kickstand.
I'm trying to find a breakout image of the center stand assembly, but only found it for the 125 and 150cc, not the 50cc. It shows both springs, but calls the one with the longer hook a kickstand spring. Here's a picture on ebay of a stand with a spring but it's just the one spring. Here's a parts seller also only showing one spring.
What am i missing?

One spring might be okay, all the the center stands I've worked with had 2.

I just put a spring on this center stand, the small one is inside the large one.
And there is a bolt in the case holding the top of the springs.

What happens if you leave off the smaller spring?
