I'm sorry I've been following this thread but forgot if you're keeping plastics. The reason I say that is my pink scoot is a twin of the Venice and when I put a Silent Pro on it was great for power but hit the body when I did bumps. I tried a bigger shock but then the air box didn't fit. I ended up with a generic exhaust and all was good. Just a word of warning. i plan on finding plastics, but will be running without while i try saving up a kings ransom to piece them all together. I found a couple members here that do have plastics, but it still costs a lot between the rarity of pieces in good shape and their bulky ship costs. Perhaps i may grow to love my no fairing scoot look too. Thanks for the heads up

Marking it down, i now have my cylinder installed! I used a phonebook gasket to get my squish to 1.05mm. Sealed my reed block to the case and the intake to the reed block. Leakdown test, only lost 1psi over 35mins. Its time to put the last bits together and get it mounted back onto my frame for its first start! (Will be on my next weekend off this sun-tues)

Ruffled around the garage a bit today, found my airbox. PO was not nice to this poor scoot, not one bit. Gonna patch some holes, smooth out the backside heat bubble (near the air cooling port), and track down some foam & oil for it. Also dug out my electrical bits. Thinking i may fab a test-run stand for the engine too. Ponderings while making it through a work week - plus a slim budget while we save for the vacation in august

Journal entry - i'm getting seriously nervous for tuesday. It's first start day. I've gone back through my engine build thoroughly today without breaking seals. I double checked all my torques on the case bolts, reassembled my flywheel side. I did a second leakdown test and bubble checked every seam and seal all over again. No leaks outside of the trickle leak i have on my exhaust blockoff plate. I've made sure my electric start bits are secure and the variator is in place. Double checked my final gear housing is tight, filled it with 100cc of 75w/90. I double checked my grease in my torque converter and reassembled my clutch/pulley assembly. And i'll be renting a compression tester however i won't be able to do a full kickstart test. I already ordered the cvt cover pin for the kick gear, but that will be in until wednesday.
I don't plan to ride it until i've done a good heat cycle and my last few missing miscellaneous bits arrives. Jets, roller weights, cvt cover bearing, new airbox and filter pad, new kick lever and kick pin, valve stems (my rear tire valve was busted,) and a few extra M6 bolts...

Had some busybody work today before i could get to my scoot. Needless to say, i have the engine mounted and it took me 15 mins. Thats just the shock and engine mount stuff, not the electrical... or the throttle cable... or...

Lemme know if you need anything, I gotta couple of these as parts bikes. >.< lol other than clean(ish) body panels, i could use a throttle cable and the right side handlebar control unit. I've been working the engine stuff through winter, now its time to ready the rest of it the next few days lol

Soooooo i got bored. My precious is outside attached to a gross frame and broken body panels that need major attention. That leaves me to play with the UParts cylinder, maybe see what kind of measures i can get out of it. Rubbed off a good port map and used the ol digital caliper to measure my port stuff. Did some crazy geometry and a dash of trig, came up with my exhaust chord width. So i took pics of it to make sure i have an "original" cuz i'll be doing some modifying to this cylinder in the future for a nice high rpm setup. Plus it has the math for finding chord width in case i forget how to trig... Soooo... i'm bored again...

I had one of these I was gonna make a met-ruck out of, but never did. I was gonna put a little round aluminum gas tank and a ruckus seat frame and seat on it.

I haven't been entirely truthful. (Too much American Dad lately.) Anyway, so i cobbled together my stator for my first start. I'm pretty sure i mentioned something along those lines. I need to replace it though, but should be good for a 5 minute warmup to be sure it runs. Hey benji do you have a 7 coil 5 wire stator as well? If you want to work out some kind of deal on it and the previously mentioned parts (throttle cable and right controls), that'd be awesome. Let me know (pm) if thats something you'd be interested in. But that aside, anything i should know about a first start? Would it be good to use a very rich mix (32:1) for it? Does anyone know how to temporarily plug the emissions tube on the exhaust til i can get it welded up? (Or replaced)?

JB weld works on the exhausts ,or just thread the emissions hole and stick a bolt in there with some silicone gasket lol. Haven't been able test the JB weld for its high temp properties yet. Soon.

I've actually had pretty bad luck with jb weld on mufflers- tried it awhile back on a burial pipe that had a crack... the jb would just end up burning up. If you find a muffler shop close by they can weld it up for you, I did that recently and it cost me $10. I've got a stator but I gotta get the flywheel off to see how many coils it's got. I'm sure it's a 5 wire 7 coil tho. I'll gather up what I can and see what I can do for ya. Oh, I also have an own muffler w/o an egr (or whatever it is)hole.

Oh, and if you still have the oil pump hooked up I wouldn't go 32:1 premix... way to LEAN. The more oil you mix in, the less gas you got compared to air. More oil=more lean. I would put in like 2 to 4 capfuls of 2t oil in the first tank, then just run the oil pump, or get a higher-rate oil pump like a doppler.

Thats what i forgot to mention, i did disconnect the oil pump for a "plug" pump, an old junker i took the head and gear off and dremelled the pins off the sides of. It was my original one that was straight busted, i used it as a paint plug originally. I'll click a pic of it later today too, but i think it shows in one of my paint pics i took and never shared. Thousands of pics on my phone, half of which are just reference too lol
