Iv went ahead and rented some living room space from our friend Floyd. Actually, I have a couple issues. I just noticed if you turn the key to the off position, the scooter keeps running. Also you can kick start it without keys. Second, I don't like how dim the rear turn signals are, so going to swapping with a higher wattage bulbs. The temps here are barley squeaking into the low 40's, I don't want to be pulling plastics in those temps and breaking tabs. Iv drained the fuel tank and ran the carb dry. I have no desires pulling a Tommy Chong in the living room.

I made some more progress in the new "work shop"(my smoke detector doesn't chirp) LOL I couldn't find bright bulbs that would fit under/inside the amber covers. The bulbs that would fit were only 5,8. or 13 watts. So I ended up leaving the covers off and going with 1156A bulbs(A = amber coated)
Much brighter
As for the key switch issue, I should of seen this when I had it open before. I noticed a "extra" connector, and realized it was for the add on alarm/remote starter module. 2 wires from the ignition plug(on the right) went to the extra plug. Just happens that the wire color(wire 10 - black/yellow), if you follow the schematic go to the CDI and the switch.(wires on right plug) The fix was simple. Here is the wiring schematic if anyone needs it.

Those damn schmatics are so damn shotty wish I could find a really clear copy

Here is the link to the PDF(For the R50X). (PostImage would not let me upload the pdf, so I converted to jpg. My Bad) Quick question, what size rollers do you use in your variator ? Mine measure out 17mm Dia x 13.3mm Long. The only place I can find them is RacingPlanet. Thanks

I decided to stick with th e slightly over sized stock ones myself. I just drilled them out to my desired weight. Replacements though, i have seen one set at 6.5g that were the oddball dimensions on eBay IIRC. Probably long gone ha ha ha.

Sorta clueless which are safer to use without damaging the variator.

Sadly, it's lucky to give a 1/2mph gain!

Thanks, iv read your build a couple times, good stuff. Guess I am a late to the TGB scene, most have moved on to other rides. LOL This thread covers pretty much what iv done so far to mine. Iv watched a lot of Youtube vids with TGB Bullets, Pegasus, and R50X's(Morini based), seems they have some "GO" potential, just sucks OE parts as well as go fast parts are getting harder to acquire.
