well i think kymco is actualy a really really good brand so the parts are better quality than the regular gy6 engines/ or other engines and they thought of the design when you need to do some maintenance on the valves And the suspension is very soft on the people s so it cruises really nice not as sporty as some people like but it is comfortable!
Greets DiyNuke
Have fun with yours!
but well i don't have to tell you kymco is good because you already knew didn't you? xD

Got it home in one piece, of course the engine flooded bouncing around on the trailer, but rolled her in the shop, put her on the charger for a half hour and it fired right up just like it did at the dealer. Not taking it out tonight, but it's going to get a run around the block tomorrow, then back in the shop and time to start studying for the written test for my ML. Pretty sure I going to love this beast...

After sitting in the shop on the charger, around 40 degrees, I wheeled her out and she started right up. Took her around the block a few times, ran fine, has an annoying rattle on acceleration but no sputtering, in fact I'll be honest, the first time I hit it hard I backed off real fast, then when I pulled in the driveway I found it has a pretty rough stumbling idle once warmed up, and it doesn't like to start again until it sits for awhile. On the other hand it's about 9 degrees, and once it starts again, it runs fines unless you let it die, then it's repeat process. The good news is, I can pull the plastic pretty easy and check the standard things, and if I run into an issue I can't handle, there's a Kymco dealer with a full service shop 20 miles away.

Looks good Peascreek. That was one of the scoots on my list when I was shopping for a 250. I ended up with the Vespa because I couldn't find a People close to me.

And now it's pretty much in a no start condition, initially kicks like it's going to start then nothing. Debating whether to mess with it myself or take it to the dealer and tell them to just fix whatever is wrong with it. Kinda disapppointed, ran at the dealer, ran when I got it home, ran this morning.

And I just remebered where my socket set is, halfway across town in my Jeep, in a shop getting tires...

I'm loading it on the trailer tomorrow and talking it over to Fenders, I decided to have them go through it thoroughly, get it running right and then winterize it.

It should make a nice ride for you when it's all done. I think it will be more useful as a motorcycle class scooter than the 150s that you were initially going to purchase.

I pulled the bucket and had a look around for anything obvious, it's not entirely unfamiliar, but honestly I have two scooters in progress already I need done by spring, I don't know the history of the bike, I feel more comfortable having a pro shop do the work and a thorough once over.
Definitely looking forward to the ride next spring.

Trip to dealer was cold but otherwise uneventful. They're going to address the no start situation, then go through everything and look for potential issues etc, go over the results of that and then either proceed with more work or winterize and haul home and store till spring. Only thing I plan on doing is getting rid of the rinky blinky LED turn signals on the front that are causing the strobe blink and replacing with bigger regular signals or hook the OEM blinkers back up. Probably address the scrapes too.
