Good work, there is more to it than pointing and clicking.

On that shot, it also involved lugging 30 pounds of gear and dodging chinese tourists with selfie sticks...

The simpler the end product looks the more planning needs to be done ahead of time. Is there some place that I could see more of your work?

You caught me in between websites, the old one wasn't working for us and we're moving locations later this year so everything is in flux, right now we have our humble little Facebook page www.facebook.com/PeasCreekStudios/

Awesome work Peascreek! Realy liking the dirt road.. It speaks to me. lol I'm always so jealous of people with artistic talent. If someone wanted to buy say, a canvas print, How would they go about it?

I'd have to check, I used to sell them a lot at shows but it's been a year since I've done anything with that lab. As rule, any image on my Facebook page is available for print, cost just depends on size and options. IIRC a 30 X 20 was around $150 or so.

In honor of Friday the 13th, I took the motorcycle written test, and passed, just have to wait till spring for the riding test now, but I can legally ride with a licensed rider now and if the weather forecast holds up, that could be as soon as next weekend ")

So, to move everything back to the scooter thread, and moving forward from the "incident", we loaded up the scooter and hauled it over to Fenders. Basically they'll remove the front end plastic, replace anything that's cracked or broken, looks to be 3-4 assemblies, if it's just scratched it stays. While they got the plastic off they're going to check the forks etc just to make sure nothing funny happened, pretty sure it didn't take a hit, but hey. Be at least a couople weeks, we're heading west on the 9th, so hopefully about the time we total the bill from a long weekend road trip, we'll get hit with the bill for the scoot.

Got in around 85 miles yesterday, my confidence is coming back, a good and bad thing since I need to make sure the confidence doesn't outrun the skill level. The handling is good for normal riding, low speed turning is light, the ride position lends itself to keeping your body in the bikes lean while remaining somewhat upright in the seat, lean to much and it wants to dive into the turn somewhat chaotically. I'm going to hold off replacing the rest of the body till next winter, if I figured out the parts right I can basically replace all the remaing cracked/broken/scratched plastic for under $300.
Only bad thing about yesterday was I had a tank fully of 87oct to run out, and ended up having to get gas in the next town, only to find out their stations don;t have 91 or 93 pure gas, just ethanol, so I had to fill up with 87 again, and it definitely has less performance than it does on 91.
I'm assembling a road kit, spare belt is on order, already had a wrench for the variator, I have more than enough room under the seat I could even load up a compressor and mt 1/4" impact wrench ") Helmet won;t fit so...

I had a base layer and a thermal weave on under my jacket and I wore a base layer under my riding pants, plus I wore the balaklava I got for free with my pants. I preferred it to the chin curtain I've used before. It was only in the low 50's though, pretty much the limit for comfortable riding with what I had.

do I pay $1.99 each for genuine Kymco screw clips and screws, or do I go to my local hardware store and buy the equivalent for $.25

The official Kymco manual states that in order to remove the rear wheel, the following needs to removed, in order. Seat/bucket, rear body/fender, muffler, caliper, rear shock, swing arm, wheel. Reality states that you can ignore the seat/bucket and body/fender, I have no idea where they got that from. Remove muffler, remove caliper, unfold passenger step and set caliper on it with a wire tie to keep it from falling, remove lower rear shock bolt, swing shock up out of the way, remove swing arm, remove wheel. I'd already removed seat/bucket and not relishing body removal when it occurred to me that they were useless steps.

So this the damage to the muffler from the drunk. The end cap is available at $30 plus, the heat shield seems to be more rare, got one price of $80. I considered a couple of options, cheapest was to simply rotate the end cap to hide the damaged portion, remove the heat shield and grind off the brackets and paint the muffler. Second was to have a friend fabricate a straight pipe setup to slip on the existing header, but he figured the diameter of tubing needed to do it right was too small to look good and would sound like a fart can. Third was to remove the shield, grind the brackets and wrap it, which is where I decided to go. It will have to wait till we get moved, but it will be the first project in the new shop, but the wrap arrived, rock wool, made the mistake of opening it without soaking or wearing mask, throat got scratchy and sneeved for a half hour... The master plan for cosmetics at this point is replace the remaining damaged panels and repaint the scooter matte black with the rims and some trim painted as close a match to the wrap as possible.
