Those 103’s need alignment dowels. The last one I had was the exact same way. Sometimes it would touch. Do you have different heads to try? Just the one 54mm I think. I am trying to keep momentum on this build so while I wait to get the 54mm "fixed" in the meantime I am checking setup on the 52mm cylinder and the new piston kit I just got for it. This new piston kit is very nice looking says made in Taiwan, not china! Lol but I dont have a 52mm head either so...... Indexing the head to the bore is the best way to make an even squish, requires careful centering and drilling both for a few roll pins for repeatable assembly,or a step cut head does the same if possible..Good article here; www.rd350.info/articles/squishing/squishing-part2/Its said that squish should be 1% of stroke (.45mm),damn close for this junk we are running!Remember the squish band pushes the mixture into the chamber bowl to suppress detonation, any more than needed will allow combustion to expand toward the edge of the piston, then we are going to start melting aluminum pretty soon..Its a fine line that each engine has and no two are the same..Ive got a recent Chinarelli build that makes a loud clack at revs, gotta take some meat out of the squish area to allow for the cheap/sloppy parts... Yeah it would be so nice if athena or someone decent offered a 54mm AC cast iron cylinder.

What about top ends for the 90cc ATVs? They cost as much as quality parts should!

What about top ends for the 90cc ATVs? They cost as much as quality parts should! I hear their porting is generally very mild?

I’m waiting for someone to buy one of these top ends so I don’t have to be the first one

yes it has one oval exhaust port,it is a airsal sport cylinder,in europe it is around 130usd. That picture traces back to Racing Planet and is a 117.2cc 56mm x 47.6mm kit made for the BWS 100 which is similar but not compatible with our 90cc minarelli. And sadly the BWS 100 is pretty rare in the US. It sure would be nice if it were just that easy. I dont think there is an aluminum kit for our "90cc blocks" that is above 50mm. Because I believe the cylinder skirt would be too thin to go any bigger. The cylinder skirts on the cheap 54mm cast iron kits that we can get are very thin, I dont think an aluminium cylinder skirt that thin would work out. Once again, it would be nice if someone made a affordable decent quality AC cylinder kit for our motors. A 50mm-52mm aluminium kit or a 54mm cast iron kit, matched to a decent affordable 43mm - 48mm crank of course. Edit: just found a 45mm stroke crank that fits the bill. Airsal crankshaft

Can't do much atm waiting for a 52mm head to arrive. But the rest of the parts to rebuild the Malossi Overrange came today so I installed the bearings and greased and assembled it.
